Official reason Saints lost, it has been confirmed that Denny Green took over for their half time adjustments and the Colts turned out to be who he thought they where.

Nothing more than a very good team in the NFC getting spanked by the AFC, again...

Games like this really illustrate just how much better the AFC is versus the NFC. The Saints will go on to make the playoffs this season, and may make it all the way to the Super Bowl. That's how weak the NFC truly is...

Eh, this is cyclical. The NFC was dominant for quite a while in the 90's, it's the AFC's turn. It will roll around again eventually.

the ravens had great D last season, but not close to the D that won them a superbowl. on the flip side.....their O couldn't score against the colts in the playoffs. Baltimore better improve their offense if they want to win a SB, because that defense can't carry them forever. the steelers and broncos fell on their face last season. and i'm not buying into the broncos making the playoffs this season either. at least not yet anyway. we'll see about them. The pats look great on paper, but a paper team contradicts the great teams that they won 3 super bowls with. we'll see how that pans out. SD has great talent. The last time Norv turner had this type of talent to work with was with the cowpokes. I think they make the playoffs and are the only AFC team that can de-throne the colts.........IF that colts defense can play as well as they have over the last 5 to 6 games in which they have looked dominant. because of that dominance the colts are on a pedestal right now in the NFL IMO. The nfc is another story. If the bears were in the AFC.......they might of been an 8-8 team IMHO. Yes the tables have turned from what we saw over a decade ago.

I apologize my previous post was off topic from the aints. but yes you can't panic yet. If it was any other team besides the colts.....then you panic. However there are some interesting things to take from this game. The saints had the best overall offense along side the colts last season. That best offense couldn't score a TD against a team that was thought to have some holes on defense. Not to mention that the colts wern't exactly as dominant last season as they looked on thursday. Another thing is that every team will look at that tape and analyze how the saints were shut down in that game. and on the other side how they got torched in the passing game and on the ground. A blowout like that can also have a lingering effect on a team. The good news is that it was the first game of the year and the saints have plenty of time to recover. of corse a blowout like that can wake up a giant as well. just look at the steelers a couple of seasons back. aside from that the saints are the fancy pick in the nfc this offseason. I just don't see them getting to the SB based on what they did last season.

Personally I think it's just a matter of the Saints not quite being as good as they thought. I really thought they'd take a step back this year, and you hardly ever see a team who experiences that "overnight" success come out and set the same pace the following year. No matter what, that game should have been more competitive. 3 points in inconceivable.

Uh, Skkorp (or should I call you 40 with this kind of complete whiffing of set in stone facts? ;) ), the Ravens were 13-3 in 2006.

eh. Messed up when checking the records. Doesn't matter. It doesn't negate my overall argument, I don't believe.

eh, the Ravens are a bit over-rated IMO and I don't know about you, but I had every expectation that Indy would beat them last year. They got by playing in a bad division, playing solid defense, but that offense just doesn't scare anyone and they lost Adalius Thomas. And as far as the Chargers go, with Norv at the helm, I'd expect Lovie to completely outcoach him and have a shot to win, just because Turner is that inept.

But yeah, the Pats and the Colts would maul the Bears.

I also believe the Ravens are a bit overrated, at least they aren't as good as their 13-3 record. But they are very good, and the AFC North isn't a bad division.
