No need for him to run against guys out there trying to go sub 4.35. if he runs over 4.5 (likely), there would be a ton of immediate comparison and scrutiny. Better to put some distance between himself and the burners out there today.

I believe Skattebo will be a good back, and will be in the league for a sufficient time- but to draft him, when Benson was just drafted and far from a bust but actually having good potential, would be negligent of this franchise. I get people in Arizona would love to draft a player that represented their state with one heck of a college showing, but it would make absolutely no sense with other pressing needs along the defense. One needs to ask themselves this. Do you want to go to a game to enjoy seeing Skattebo end up like fans rooting for Larry Centers for some individual moral victory, or do you want to win? Sell tickets because you are winning

It’s possible to do both. Have someone to root for and win. It all depends on which round. I wouldn’t want to draft him in rounds 1-4 but if he falls past round 4, I see no reason not to take a flyer.

Agree...maybe even 4 if the pool has thinned.
He seems to have the attitude and intensity that JG is looking for and our offense can use plenty of sturdy backs

I love the guy and if the Cards get him somehow I'll be thrilled but yeah you can't pick him too early because the obvious roles for him on the cards are short yardage runner, that's Conner, backup to Conner, that's Benson, and even 3rd down RB, he's a great receiver, but we have that too. I think he'd end up on the roster he's just a guy that will do anything to help you win.

fully expect the 49ers to take him he's apparently a lifelong 49er fan and with CMC's injuries and all the injured RB's they had last year I can see them taking Skattebo to work with Guerrendo

I dunno, JC may not even be here next year...so Skat and Benson would be a nice duo

Why would Conner not be here? If you mean Gannon saying he thinks we have 2 starting RB's next year I didn't take that as he's down on Conner it's him saying if Benson takes the leap we expect him to take, he'll be that good.
