Rd 4 or below? Fine. Otherwise, no thank you. And LOL at the "Benson sucks, Scat is a hero!" stuff. Just LOL

I love the kid and I have a bias but yeah I don't want us using a 3rd rounder on him so if that's the round he might go, we should not take him

I’d be okay if we acquired additional third round pick trading down which I don’t necessarily want to do.

I think we have bigger needs and I am still a Benson fan I think he's going to be really good. But 4th round on if he's still there, I'm good with taking him.

skattebo will be skattegone by the middle of the 4th - that's the logistics of it - if you want him you don't cross your fingers you make a move

i like benson too - to still get his 4.6 despite defenses knowing he was getting it... i think benson is part of the reasoning for getting skattebo

i think we'd see more tandem backfields - if that's the route we want at least 3 rbs on the field - if we want a healthy conner (and murray) come november it makes even more sense

Of course it is taken into account. But I don't think an artificial workout setting is some kind of deciding factor in drafting a kid.

Personally I think he's a 5th round type of talent and will have an NFL career but will not be a star. If he ran a 4.2 it wouldn't change my mind much because I saw him play so much.
If he’s available in the 5th round, I’d run a 4.65 to the podium to turn in his card. Look, our No.1 RB is likely to get injured this year. It’s just the nature of the game. Benson doesn’t impress, or hasn’t so far. Would I spend a 5th rounder on Skatt at that point? Yes.

Fine by me if he's gone.

Ok, sure. I would have no problem with drafting him in the 5th round.

Even with the rivalry, I highly doubt UT grads thought a universal, generational pass rusher was going to be bad in the pros.

Indirectly comparing Skat to Myles Garrett under any circumstance is hilarious.
They absolutely did. You seem unfamiliar with the depraved mind of a college football fanatic.

I can guarantee you I’m a much bigger college football fanatic than you. Being serious, too.

But come on, you literally just indirectly compared MYLES GARRETT to some damn Skattebo. That’s hilarious.

Analysts are pretty high on Skattebo so I'm not sure why so many people here think he's going to be practice squad fodder. I didnt go to the Arizona schools, I'm assuming the disdain is mainly UA grads who are upset about him being an ASU player?

A lot of this thread reminds me of when UT grads thought Myles Garrett was going to be bad in the pros.
I doubt many tu grads were really thinking much about Myles Garrett while he was in college or in the draft. Considering the Horns did not play the Aggies in any of those seasons. And, tu was 6-7, 5-7 and 5-7 the three years Garrett played at A&M. They had bigger problems than how some Aggie was doing. If they did think about Myles Garrett it was due to envy.

Myles Garrett was the #2 prospect in the nation coming out of high school. Was All SEC all three seasons in college and a 2X All American. Yeah, the career arc of Garrett and Skattebo were very different.

As an out of stater I really didn't understand the full dynamics of ASU vs. UoA. UoA, how in the world did you let the small state school be the historically dominant one????? Better win percentage AND 18 conference championships to 6? 49-7 last meeting? You lost 70-7 in 2020?

I understand this thread completely now.

Olb, DT, OG...
Rounds 1,2,3...
3 get sketchy if a good WR is on the board..
Once we are out of the top 100 I don't really care who they pick.
But based on our offense I won't be mad if they go RB in 3...just see guard as a more immediate need

ASU football is not historically dominant in the modern era. In my lifetime they’ve been somewhere between mediocre and good. UA has been somewhere between mediocre and bad.

nobody "wants" to go in the third round.
NFL dreams are all about being a first round pick...then when thats past...its about just getting drafted...hopefully as high as possible so you get a bigger check.
The draft, with the rookie scale, is the one place positional value does not force a guy to take less money...dude drafted at 10, he gets paid the same rather he is a QB or a RB
I'm going to have to disagree with you here. Some people just want to be drafted. Of course they would LOVE to be drafted in the first round. Just making it to the NFL is a dream for some.

IMO, this has little to do with an in-state rivalry. I want the Cardinals to draft the best player for them, regardless of where they went to school. Yeah, occasionally fans like to have some fun with it along the way.

It has more to do with a player that many fans in Arizona has had a chance to see play, more so than most of the players in the NFL Draft. There are a lot of players in the draft I've never even seen video on.

FACT: I am not saying the Cards should take Skat, but Skat is way better that Benson. I don't care about 40 times. Benson did not run away from anyone last year. The Combine has turned into a joke, how about actually passing the eye test in actual games. If the Cards take him great, if not I hope he lands on a team that can max his potential.

As a rookie the game was a little fast for him but I still believe in his athletic profile. I like the potential combo of Benson + Skat going forward. If he’s there in the 3R why not.

There's an interview out now where someone asks Kyler about Cam and he says I was there for his visit, he's bigger than i thought he was, people get carried away with 40 times etc I want a guy who can play football and this dude can play football. Didn't say take him or anything like that but I thought it was at least interesting that Kyler was there since i doubt he has the time to be there for every kid we have in for a visit?
