Dems---you cannot control Max Hall---you can only hope to contain him!

You know, Mitch, who knows what's going to happen in his career. But I am always going to have a soft spot in my heart for him. Call it grit, call it spunk, the guy has it. It's just so much fun for me to watch a guy like that play. He's the miniature pony who thinks he's the Stallion.

So you're pretty much the only person who enjoyed the Seattle game, huh? And the Tampa game before he got benched?

I meant I liked his attitude and his hustle. Glad to see you're paying attention though, lol.

And "no comment" 40. It's hard enough dealing with all the testosterone around here. :)

I have the same problem with Calvisi on Cards Underground saying that Jim Dray needs to pick up his special teams play when he was one of our best special teams players last year.

TRUTH.

One of the biggest reasons for LSH having such a great year returning the ball last year.

Dray was a beast in the return game.

A Carolina reporter caught up with DA and asked him about the comments. He said he took that sh*t seriously.

The other reason is when you are returning 84 kickoffs the odds increase that you'll break a couple. Or that you and your team would eventually get pretty good at it.

There was a read on the main site last year in the preseason, that talked how DA had been through cut throat camps before, and how glad he didn't act like that, Didn't need too!

I have seen a distinct difference in how Whiz treats player less cutthroat, Beanie has his mind more on toting the rock, less on manufactured drama. I like it it is a great thing. Maybe this short off season is a good thing? less time for horse crap.

The two have known each other since seeing each other in high school all-star camps back when they were 17. Anderson, who went through some ugly quarterback battles with Brady Quinn in Cleveland – someone Anderson acknowledged he didn’t know before they were pitted against one another – thinks it’ll work better with Leinart.

“You don’t want dissention in the locker room, guys wanting to play for another guy,” Anderson said. “You can’t have that. I have been through that, guys trying to get guys on their side. That’s not how I go about it, that’s not how you should go about it. You let your play talk and that’s all you worry about.”

I'm less discomfortable this year, Is that good or bad?

“I sense from our fans a little bit of discomfort because we don’t have the same guys we have had in there, and I understand that,” Whisenhunt said. “But I feel very good about the players we have on this team and knowing we will have the right combination when we start our season.”

FLAGSTAFF – Early in the week, coach Ken Whisenhunt watched Matt Leinart throw a 42-yard touchdown pass in practice during a two-minute, 11-on-11 drill. At worst, it looked like a close call, and the offense thought Stephen Williams was in bounds.

Whisenhunt called it no good – just to see how Leinart would respond.

“In a game it would be a touchdown,” Leinart said with a smile a few days later. “You just bounce back from … I wouldn’t call it adversity, but you didn’t get the call you want or the play you want, so how do you respond, and you keep grinding.”

“I have dealt with so much criticism it doesn’t bother me what people say anymore,” Leinart said. “I can only let my play do the talking.”

Leinart remembers his rookie season, when Kurt Warner – the man who later led the Cards to the Super Bowl – was booed off the field in the third game of 2006 because of turnover problems. Warner didn’t play at University of Phoenix Stadium again that season.

“As a quarterback it’s going to happen, even if you are playing well there are people that don’t like you, there are people that don’t want to see you succeed,” Leinart said. “Big deal. I don’t really care. That was what was so great about Kurt, he could care less what people said.

“I can remember it clearly, there were boos … (Kurt) even texted me before camp, (telling me) ‘Don’t let one bad game or don’t let anyone else define you. Move on to the next day, the next play.’ That’s this position.”

less than one year history,

I'm talking about what Skelton was comparing this camp too less than a year ago. The subject of this thread.

you know Skelton's comments this year, compared to last year. what do you look at for comparison?

I'm a Skelton Fan, He is getting better.

It also had to be a good feeling since Skelton has struggled in practice in Flagstaff – during one practice last week, he threw interceptions on back-to-back plays – and was clearly outplayed by fellow rookie QB

“This eases the transition for the rest of preseason,” Skelton said. “I knew what the coaches wanted to see from me, poise in the huddle and controlling the offense.”

with Skelton spending his college years at small school Fordham in a spread offense. But at 6-foot-6 and 244 pounds with a rocket arm, it was hard not to fall in love with his tools.

Then Skelton played against Houston, and everyone else could see what the Cardinals saw.
He moved easily in the pocket. He completed five of six passes (and it can be argued his incompletion could have been caught by fellow rookie Andre Roberts). He showed ease getting the ball downfield, and most importantly, he led the Cards to two touchdown drives in two possessions as Arizona rallied for a victory.

“I just wanted to get out there,” said Skelton, whose 84 yards and game-winning touchdown pass to running back Jason Wright gave him a perfect 158.3 quarterback rating. “We’ve gone through our minicamps and OTAs. We’ve had endless meetings, endless film. To finally play a game against someone else is a good feeling.”
