So is ours. PFF had us rated slightly above the Rams and that was mostly due to our run blocking. The first sack given up by Keith was awe-inspiringly bad. This was one of their better games and they still had 3 sacks and had plenty of pressure on Skelton
The questions that people really should be asking are 1) does he have the potential to be a starter? and 2) Is he showing signs of developing/improving?
IMO when it comes to Skelton is yes. Does that mean he's the QBOTF? No but he shows signs of possibly being one
People need to have realistic expectations when it comes to young QBs. The chances of them looking like a seasoned vet are about slim to none. There is some development/adjustment time needed. There were plenty of HOF QBs that struggled early in their careers.
I'm not, or was never debating how bad our line is. In fact, I am one of the most outspoken people here about the state of our line.
I'm pointing out the silly claim that TB's offensive line is worse than STL's when there is little to no proof that it is.
To answer your questions:
1) Yes, he does have potential to be a starter.
2) Only kinda. He is still plagued by the some mistakes he has always been plagued with. (accuracy..especially high, slow starts, poor forced throws, inability to read defenses, etc) To be fair, most of those things can be improved on. I still think that the jury is out on him and whether we are dealing with fool's gold. Time will tell if he can be the leader of this offense.
