Skelton returns to practice in a limited capacity, which begs the question...

Out of curiosity, doesn't Whiz adhere to the belief that you can't lose your starters job from being hurt? I don't remember.

That only goes so far. A guy with middling stats isn't going to get his job back if his replacement is putting up fantastic stats and winning games. It would be stupid to do otherwise. See Leinart/Warner. Kolb/Vick. Pipp/Gehrig

I don't know that you could say he really lost it though. They were in close competition, Whiz had to shoot from the hip week 1, not saying it was the wrong decision, because I agree with it. Skelton may have lost it on his poor throwaway that resulted in a pick, or Kolb may have earned it by beating NE in NE. Something that has never happened to them on their home opener at Gillette, and something the Cardinals haven't done since before they even moved to AZ

That's true but the Phoenix/Arizona Cards had only played there twice before last Sunday so that part is not that big a deal.

That win gives the Cards a 7-6 edge over NE all time. Cards beat NE 6 out of the first 7 times they played so we had as good a run against them as they did against us. The Phoenix Cardinals were 2-1 vs the Patriots. Maybe they shouldn't have changed the name.

ah, good point. Didn't think to look that little fact up lol. But the point that NOBODY beat them in their home opener and Brady only lost 1 of the last 36 games there (until us of course), are a big deal

Yes they are. But the way the TV people are reacting to it you'd think it happened every day.

We ARE the Rodney Daingerfield's of the NFL.

basically. We're the Cardinals. If we start 5-0, then they'll think we might be real

Really! Did you not see Warner's stats after Leinart got hurt in 2007? Do you not know who Lou Gehrig was? Or how Vick played after Kolb got hurt?

Both Warner and Vick were established and proven players, Kolb is not. And so far there is nothing that shows he will put up "fantastic stats". Now that I have said it... he may do just that tomorrow :D

OK you misunderstood my post. I wasn't talking about Kolb or Skelton in the current situation just the general situation of a player not losing his job due to injury. A player gets hurt and the Next Man Up comes in and plays much better than the guy who got hurt - the latter fellow is out of a job. Most of the time.

my guess is, that as long as Kolb stays in the pocket he will be the starter from here on out. We all know he is a better passer and knows the offense better...his issue has been happy feet...eliminate that, and the job is his until injury says otherwise.

He has got to put up better numbers as well... 140/game yards and 2 TD not always enough such as tomorrow with a high octane offense. Gotta help the defense.
