Showed this to my wife, now she wants to get the pro, but I wanted to hear a rave review before I spend the time and money setting it up for her.

I have the AV version and love it so much so I am about to upgrade to the pro version.

The difference between the two is the AV version is only S-Video in, while the Pro is component.

I travel a lot and it's great for watching local sports, especially during football and basketball season. It lets me control my DVR, etc.

I was in Chicago and heard about the news chopper accident and was ablo to watch all the local coverage through the Slingbox.

Slingbox rocks.

As a matter of fact if you want to buy my AV version let me know.

When your using your laptop to watch DVR or a specific channel, does it mean those at home cannot access the cable box or tv?

I got my Pro yesterday and it is a big improvement over the Classic, not the AV, which I used to use.
Did you order the HD Connect cable when you ordered your Pro?
If not, you need to. That is the only way to connect component cables to your Slingbox.

Got mine about a month ago (Pro w/HD connect) and we love it! I love being able to sit on the porch with my laptop, a cup-a-joe, Fall all around me and watch the world series in HD.
