Read over on Yahoo that the field was re-sodded for the up-coming Fiesta Bowl. At times, it looked like our guys were out there on "rollerskates". Didn't see ANY 49ers slipping though which was weird.

Also, don't understand WHY the roof was open. On TV, the crowd sounded loud (GREAT JOB!) but wouldn't it have been louder with the roof closed?

Over-all, THRILLED with the season. Things to be addressed? SURE. But, it's exciting to know we have an aggressive GM now who's already on top of it.

Draft day is going to be...FUN! :)

We should have made shoe adjustments earlier in the game.

Maybe the roof was open to save $ on heating? You never know.....

Why have a retractable roof and leave it closed every game? I dont think it effects the sound that much if any

It does not have a effect on the noise. Look at Seattle, they have the loudest staduim in the league.

Wonder when they actually installed the new sod seeing that we had 2 road games last 2 weeks. In theory, they could have installed the sod as many as 21 days ago (after Dec. 8th home game). Not sure though.

As far as the roof....people complain when it's closed and people complain when it's open. Same as at BoB. Can't win.

Comparing Seattles stadium to anyone's is silly it's known it was built to funnel the noise toward the field. Open air or not.

Saying that opening our teeny weeny little cloth roof allows noise to escape is silly as well.

exactly. open it when its nice outside.

yup. I just wish the roof was full retractable. the one thing I miss about SDS was the feeling of watching games outside come October/November/December. it just feels like that's the way football was meant to be watched, with sun shining and enjoying a day outside, screaming and swearing and bitching and moaning.
