Goran Dragic has led Slovenia to a match-up with the United States at noon (phoenix time) on Tuesday.

Dragic and his brother, Zoran, led Slovenia to a 71-61 victory over the Dominican Republic on Saturday, advancing the men in green to a World Cup quarterfinal game at noon (Phoenix time) Tuesday against the United States.

Slovenia, with Dragic as its only NBA player, entered the World Cup ranked 13th but will be among the tournament's final eight teams in Spain after never previously finishing higher than eighth place.

Slovenia has gone 5-1 at the World Cup but was trailing 28-23 before going on a 19-0 run that included seven of Zoran Dragic's team-high 18 points.

I'm happy for Goran and I hope to see Zoran play as well if I can find it on television.

If you could live with the German Audio, you can watch the Game live on sport1.de I guess.

I'll try to DVR this one and watch Zoran play. I did discuss with someone here (Mainstreet, was it you?) about Zoran not really being NBA material.

We'll see Tuesday.

Zoran is definitely NBA material. He's a far better player than Christmas (and Goodwin, although that isn't saying much). The question is just what level. I see no reason why the Suns shouldn't bring him over assuming they could agree to his status and contract. Potential upside and almost no downside. He just signed a contract extension in Europe so but I don't know the buyout provisions.

I think it may have been me.

My contention is the Suns should give him a look. Zoran has been part of the two headed monster that has gotten Slovenia this far. Slovenia is not a roster laden with NBA stars other than Goran. The Suns could do far worse than have Zoran as part of their 15 man NBA roster based on his own merit. At least we will get a look at him in the upcoming game although one game is not a fair indicator.

Do you know where to find the game if it is televised?

ESPN or ESPN 2

I checked my guide for the matchup when Slovenia beat DR but the only listing I could find for the quarterfinals was a delayed version on the NBA TV channel at 5 PM. I don't mind seeing it 3 hours late so I've already programmed the DVR but I know some people hate to wait.

I believe the game is 3:00 EST Tuesday. It should be ESPN2 as the USA games have been shown on that channel. I don't think ESPN has yet updated their schedule since the game wasn't a guaranteed game until yesterday.

Another player to watch as Serbia beats Greece to advance to quarterfinals.
Bogdan Bogdanovic scored 21 points and made four 3 pointers in the winning effort.

The latest guide listings for my TV says that ESPN2 will broadcast no FIBA games on Tuesday but will air 2 FIBA quarterfinal games on Wednesday - at 9am and 1pm. The USA game should be one of those, you'd think.

EDIT: I checked further and the 9am game is France vs Spain and the other one says TBD but it also claims it will be a live broadcast which rules out the USA vs Slovenia. I'm going to record both in hopes they've gotten something amiss - wouldn't be the first time.

The game is definitely Tuesday. If the game isn't shown, it will be the first USA game not shown. The schedule just needs updated.

Thanks, I would have missed it. I hadn't even looked that early because somewhere I read the game was being played at noon Phoenix time.

Looks like the Suns are hearing you out

The FIBA site and another site I use have the game at 3:00 EST. That's the second game of the day. The first game is at 11:00 EST Lithuania Turkey.

Yeah, according to the FIBA site, the game should start at noon PDT. DirecTV had the game scheduled for 8 am. Maybe it will change.

speaking of Dragic....he's getting some national attention. Ranked in the top ten among point guards in this article.
8. Goran Dragic, Phoenix: Among point guards, only Stephen Curry averaged more points and assists than the 20.3 and 5.9 put up by Dragic GoranDragicSH1last season. Dragic also was the only point guard to shoot 50-40 from the field, which allowed him to move off the ball when Eric Bledsoe was healthy. His resume doesn’t include much in the way of playoffs....

He was 3rd team All-NBA last season, so this isn't exactly an upgrade to his reputation.

Team USA should have added another PG... they seemed to fall for all the hype about Kyrie. There are quite a few guys that could have helped - Lillard, Lawson, Conley, Lowry and Bledsoe might have been the best choice of all. He'd give them a defensive presence in the backcourt when they needed it - and he shoots better than Irving. Not to mention he gets to the FT line more, grabs more rebounds and more steals.
