23 first rounders. Which is good. But unfortunately 6 are at safety, QB or ILB, positions we don’t need.

I don’t pretend to know anything about the college talent except the highlights I see. I do know whoever Keim takes there’s a 35% chance he’s wrong! Lol.

However, seeing Burks highlights he reminds me a little Deebo.

Harry, what’s your take on Burks? Is he worthy at 23?

Is OLB David Ojabo worth taking a risk at #23 since he tore his achilles at the Michigan pro day. He would have gone most likely in the teens before the injury.

The NFL has always been a ”copycat” league. Now everyone wants the next Deebo Samuel and some have nominated Burks. He’s more quick than fast, but he is physical and could do screens and sweeps effectively. He has decent hands and posts reasonable YAC numbers. He can return punts & kickoffs. His size makes him a potential red zone target.
There are issues. Some would class them as Greene’s prospect pessimism. First, he should be better. He’s okay at 50/50 balls but should be outstanding. He’s big & physical when he’s got the ball, but a lousy blocker. That makes me question his motivation. He’s not fast, so he’s less of a deep threat than Deebo Samuel.
Is he worth the 23rd pick? Tough question. If you believe he will grow his upside, absolutely. He fits this offense well. He won’t likely be an instant impact player. I’m not sure he’s even a potential star. I think his ceiling is a solid receiver. I think there will be better receivers available at 23, but that’s not a certainty. It wouldn‘t be a terrible gamble, but it’s a gamble IMO.

Another “that’s why GMs get the big bucks” question. He likely won’t play until near season’s end. That said he’s potentially a power player at a position it’s hard to find. The Cards should have no chance at a player of this caliber picking at 23. Ojabo is also raw, so he probably wouldn’t blossom until his second year. If you’re going strict BPA, he’s the best you’ll get at 23. I can’t see how you pass him as it’s a chance to get a highly expensive player at an affordable level. Yes it compromises 2022, but should pay huge dividends for the following 4 years. I’d grab him.

Vance Joseph was at Logan Hall’s Pro Day today and spoke very highly of him. This would actually be a Keim type pick I could get behind. He reminds me a lot or Erik Armstead.

Jess Root said he thinks we're looking at him in the 2nd round.

Karlaftis, Penning and Burks caught my eye thus far. They each play a different position. I could see one of them outshining the other two.

Which, if any, has the edge when you factor in BPA, Game Changer, Fills a Need, Available at #23 etc. I could see any one of them outshining the other two. If all three were available, who would you draft?

PS Note the absence of a talented CB at #23. (though that could all change as Draft Day looms nearer).

I’m hearing Penning is long gone. Coaches love O-linemen with an attitude plus he tested great.

For the Cardinals? Absolutely! Its not like a defensive guy drafted by the Cardinals in the first round will see the field anyway.

Ojabo is a guy I'd consider even with the injury. He'd have been long gone by 23.

My gut tells me it's going to be Karlaftis if he's there. Karlaftis is the player the Cardinals wanted when they drafted Zach Allen. Not a bad thing, but I doubt he's ever a 10 sack a year kind of guy.

My hope is the Cardinals draft Olave. He'd be great opposite Hopkins.
