I just watched all of season 6 for the first time and I still have about 5 eps of this season to watch.

How are you "still watching?" Hasn't this season been suspended due to the strike?

Anybody besides me still watching?

Haven't strayed out of the Cards' forum in forever, but I thought I'd take a look around.

Yeah - I'm watching the new episode tonight.

I have even gotten my wife hooked on this show...if you knew her, you'd realize how surprising that is. She has watched from the end of Season Three through the current episodes, and then we went back and I'm re-watching Seasons One, Two and Three with her. Pretty much every evening, we watch one.

Love, love, LOVE this show.

New eps have been on for a few weeks now with another tonight.

Great stuff last week with Brainiac and the Clark/Phantom guy.

Lex' test tube creation has come to light as well.

Okay Louis, I apologize. I checked my DVR and there were two new episodes of Smallville on it.

Smallville is definitely one of my top favorite shows of all time. I just wish that Lana would leave forever already. She's just not right for Clark - never has been.

I'm glad that Oliver Queen (Green Arrow) made a return. The Black Canary teaming up with Queen really excites me. I feel that this is the inner circle that is going to help Clark accept his role as Superman. And just when things were getting good with Grant Gabriel he goes off and gets shot by a hit man hired by Lex. (No surprise there.)

I feel like they either aired some episodes in the wrong order or my DVR ordered them funny. I just watched an episode in which they reference Lana opening up to the Bizzaro clark, but I didn't see that episode...until now (2 eps later).

My DVR must have done something funny then. I'm still catching up, so I'' return to the thread when I've seen them all.

But, overall, I think this season has been a disappointment so far. :(

Smallville just lost it's creators. DOH!!!! This could be very bad or breathe some new life into the show. What will be even more curious is do some of the "rules" that Millar and Gough set (like no Clark flying etc) get broken with new show runners etc.?

Wow, first we are losing Lex and Lana as regular cast members next year and now this. Me thinks they should just go out with a bang if Season 8 is going to be the last season. Pull out all the stops.

http://www.mania.com/millar-gough-exit-smallville_article_57923.html

Curiously, it seems that the Smallville showrunners are exiting the series just a few weeks after CW announced an upcoming eight season. Here's what Alfred Gough and Miles Millar had to say in an open letter to their friends.

As the creators of "Smallville" we look back at 7 amazing years. We look back at 152 episodes. We look back knowing that the show will continue into Season 8 without us. After much heartache and debate we have decided it is time for us to move on.

Over the last 7 years we have had the honor of working with a remarkable team of people here in Los Angeles and in Vancouver. We have been blessed with a wonderful cast who we have watched mature with admiration and affection. We have been rewarded with a fan base that is as loyal as it is vocal.

We are incredibly proud of our work on this show. We achieved what we set out to do. We never compromised our vision. We leave knowing that "Smallville" is the longest-running comic book based series of all-time. The show was featured on the covers of Rolling Stone, MAD magazine, TV Guide and Entertainment Weekly. The pilot had the highest-rated premiere in the history of the WB. Even in its seventh year it is still the #1 scripted show on the network. "Smallville" is watched by millions of people in hundreds of countries and in dozens of languages around the world.

The show's success is a credit to a fantastically talented group of people. We wanted to take this chance to single some of them out. Our writers – your work speaks for itself. James, Jae, Rob, David – the backbone of our team in Vancouver. Joe Davola, Chris and Shelly – remember those Friday night brainstorming sessions? Len Goldstein and Steve Pearlman – thanks for believing we could do this. David Nutter – for giving the show your magic touch. John Litvack – when the knives were out, you always had our backs. Ken Horton – our Yoda. Peter Roth – Smallville's biggest fan. Melinda, Michael R., Paul M., Susan and Suzanne – for steering us through 152 episodes. Greg Beeman – your passion is an inspiration. Jordan, David, Garth, Carolyn, Bob & Lew – and everyone at the much-missed WB. Paul Levitz, Greg Noveck and the guys at DC Comics. Lisa Lewis – our very own soccer mom/mafia accountant. Michael Gendler – aka mega-counsel. David Lubliner – we can finally focus on features now. And last but in no way the least, Renee Kurtz – the smartest TV agent in town, we would be nowhere without you!

Finally, to the fans who have stuck with us through the highs and the lows: know this – we never stopped fighting to make this show great. Thanks for watching.

That's too bad.

But they have been rehashing old story lines to create new ones. This last season could be exciting and fresh.

Lana leaving doesn't bother me too much.

With the Lana story probably written as it is for her to exit, it would be nice if the new writers move the story ahead a few years.

This would give Clark a great excuse to move forward and possibly start flirting with the Lois angle.

I enjoyed the first few seasons but I felt it got a little stale.

It was a great idea, and a good show for a while, but needs to have a definitive ending that lets Superman grow up and fast.

According to The CW...

Darren Swimmer, Todd Slavkin, Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson will helm the show next season.

They have been writing for the show for the past six seasons and have been producers for the last four years.

To be fair, I think some stuff has happened to him that's gorwing him up from ep to ep and season to season. But, I agree. And, I think that "definitive ending" also needs to cement Lex as hopelessly evil (thus far, they've always balanced his asshattery with a glint of goodness). Maybe Lex kills Lana and that sets everyone on their course.
