The reunion episode was great. My wife who jumped shipped on the show 2 seasons back watched it with me. She was impressed and said she might watch the rest of the season now.

P.S. I am still pissed at MR not coming back.

How many episodes have they had where the female lead gets "possessed"? The rehashing of what seems like at least a yearly ordeal was weak IMO. But the underlying continuation of the season with the addition of Tess to the team and Clark finally telling Lois was good to see.

What a terrible accent Lois had. LOL

Yeah, last night's episode was pretty bad until the end, and those couple things really were so good it made the rest of it better.

I kept expecting someone to interrupt Clark and Lois in the end, or Clark changing his mind and not telling her, but they did a really great job of finally doing it. I love how every episode so far has pushed the mythology forward--we've had to deal with the mythology on neutral for 5 years.

I have to agree that last nights epsiode seemed like mid season fodder. Even that last part didn't even make it very worthy. To go from one great episode to this was a bit of a let down but we will see where this next episode goes.

To be fair, previous "possession" episodes were a lot worse than this one. Again, the story is still propelling forward even though you don't think so. Clark revealing his secret to Lois is probably the biggest step the series has taken since Clark got the suit last year--maybe even since Lex died and Lana left the series.

I am not sure why you think I am saying the story isn't moving forward. However, the last few minutes basically was the only relevent part of that entire epsiode. For such a monumental moment in the series, they sure picked a clunker of an episode for such a moment.

It's not that often when you get an unforgettable moment in a series in one of the most unforgettable episodes all in one package.

It was bound to happen though. You can't like every episode in a season.

Well, every season, including the great early ones, had clunkers in them. This hopefully will be the only one.

The possession itself didn't actually last all that long, probably only half the runtime of the episode was devoted to it. This was actually a very well done character development episode, not just with Clark and Lois, but also with Oliver and Tess as well.

Just like the reunion show this started as seemingly a throwaway episode but it turned out to be pretty dang good. Very "watchmen/x-men-ish" to me with the factions of vigilantes being formed and of course the anti-vigilante sentiment.

But that was a good way to let us see the growing bond between Lois & Clark while moving the story forward.

Still watching. Still enjoying. It'll be interesting to see how it wraps up. I imagine the end will feel very much like a beginning (as it should)...I think a fitting final scene would be to have Superman (sort of a first appearance as costumed super hero as we know him) and Lex (as super villain, maybe in the green and purple battle suit) just about to engage in some kind of battle.

I've always found it to be a fascinating way to tell a story. We all know how it "ends" (with Clark becoming Superman), so to be able to build suspense and anticipation from week to week is got to be a challenge.

Don't hold your breath on Lex returning. MR stated on his twitter account that basically he is done with Smallville. Don't know if that was posturing or not but it doesn't sound like he is coming back. I had always sort of pictured Clark taking that final step with something happening to him that is the catalyst for taking that final step. I thought a good way to do it would be to kill someone close to him at the hands of Lex. I thought Chloe would be a good candidate since I don't think her character means anything to cannon. Not that the show follows it but I have not even noticed her being gone this season.

Now I sort of have no idea how they do it. I am almost for them aging Lex about 10 years and recasting the part if MR refuses to return. IMO his character is essential to the ending of the series.

Man, this season has been good. Wish they were coming back next year. Another solid episode last week.

I was surpised with the Clark Luthor episode. I've shared similar sentiments in the past, but the previews made the episode look like a throwaway. But it turned out to be one of my favorites of this season.

Can't wait to see how alt-Lionel's return will play out.

Well, it's back on. Last episode had a distinct Matrix type feel to it...:)

It did. And though I always liked Chloe I am a little disappointed she is back. I liked the direction and the new angles of having Tess and Lois being involved more.

Can't wait to see Lionel's story. I did read an article somewhere that Zod would be coming back too.

Well, the latest episode certainly provided a twist at the end. Good to see Lionel having a part again. Going to be interesting watching what they do with Lex...

I really would have been surprised if he didn't come back. It's not like he's off challenging Tom Cruise at the box office.

Not me. Evidently, he bowed to the pressure from fans and cast mates. I don't think he ever had any intention of returning.

At any rate I am stoked. It wouldn't have been a finale without MR as Lex. I know they introduced the close concept and would have probably used that through the finale had he not come back. That probably means doom for the Lex clone character.

There's a rumor that
at the very least the ACTOR that plays Fake Lex will become Superboy. Whether it's the character that becomes Superboy or they will use the same actor (a la Garret Dillahunt in Deadwood) is the question. There's even a photo out there of the actor wearing a black shirt with the Superman "S" on it.

With the ending of the last episode, why did that needle not penetrate Alexander? I don't remember the science behind his creation other than cloning.

The idea is that he somehow is like Clark and indestructable.

Enjoy the show as much as you all can. As the show is in it's last season. Makes you wonder if Clark will finally choose Lois in the end?
