So let me get this straight.

Every poster on this thread but I thinlks that our process leading up to the snap in shotgun formation looks smooth, clean and with no issues?

Ok I stand corrected. I think it looks like a cluster.

I'd say you're WAY off on a tangent. I could give you dozens of reasons as to why you bench DA. The silent shotgun snap isn't one of them.

OK anytime anyone has an observation about the play of a game I will make sure to tell them to shut up and petion for bannings because they are not on yours or cheeses or whomever percieved "core issues" lol

This thread was never a "Here is a reason to bench DA" it WAS said tongue in cheek such as "wow look no further than this (ie not even getting to actual game play)

bah whatever

didn't see this before I posted my response either. Between this thread and our simultaneous dubbing DA the Yugo, you and me are riding the same brain-waves today!

If for no other reason simply snapping the ball should require a QB change.

When DA is back there he is stomping like a 6'5 ****** throwing a tamper tantrum. He stomps when Sendlein isnt even looking, When Sendy starts to look DA is looking at the defense. Sendy goes back to making line adjustments and DA is stompin around again.

Max Hall comes in (in shotgun) and (gasp) vocally yells "hut!".

Not only should a change be made so we can look like a professional football team it should also be considered that when all you do is stomp there is no chance to get the defense to go offsides on vocal changes. Everyone know when the ball will be snapped except DA.

When you see that happening presnap how do u have ANY confidence that the play will be executed in a professional manner?

Nah Im gonna work on you guys

irony/tongue in cheek (can someone LOSE a job because of snaps?) But is it bad yes.

In no way makes the point that he stomps to hard as Cheese says. That is not proper reading comprehension on any grade level.

Adjectives to explain how bad the miscommunication is between QB and center.

One poster said it hasnt resulted in any mistakes yet. That is incorrect we have one fumble for what should have been a back breaking TD except that Breaston saved the day.

Max Hall comes in (in shotgun) and (gasp) vocally yells "hut!".

Like many other QB's in the league MAx Hall used verbal commands and at no point did you see any noticable confusion between QB and center. The silent snap is used almost exclusively in hostile territory when the crowd is going. The crowd was pretty under control after the half. No serious noise issues allowing Max Hall to use verbal commands.

it should also be considered that when all you do is stomp there is no chance to get the defense to go offsides on vocal changes. Everyone knows when the ball will be snapped except DA.

never saw a defense go offsides on the silent foot stomp snap. Yet tens of thousands of times at least defenses have been drawn offsides by a QB using his voice to draw them off. Happens a lot to the cards defense so you may have seen it happen once or twice.

So an additional weopon is essentially wasted and the blitzers get a good idea on when to go.

When you see that happening presnap how do u have ANY confidence that the play will be executed in a professional manner

My personal thought based on an observation.

lol you may have made it that way but boy am I gonna have fun with your guys observations from here on out.

dude, I didn't even respond to your original post. It was only after this that I thought your point was comical.

"Saying every team is ridiculous.

A few do but they do it in a smooth professional manner."

So, I read you write "he stomps like a ******"... then you slam DCR for not watching football because "only a few teams do it" then you say those that do "do it in a smooth professional manner" and I'm not suppose to come to the conclusion you're complaining that "he stomps the ball like a ****** and does so in an unprofessional manner"? Come on man. You're digging your own grave here swd.

okay... let me try to break it down for you again. In your first post, you rail that the guy stomps his foot like a ******. Then, in another post, you say that almost no QBs do this, but at least the ones who do, do it in a "professional smooth matter". In reading the discussion, through the the sum of your posts I thought "why in the world is someone complaining that he stomps his foot too hard?" You know... because you said he stomps his foot like a ****** and that professional QBs do it in a smooth manner. Why is that hard to understand?

swd was way off base with the "nobody stomps" comment. Everyone stomps, and most of the time.

However, he DOES have a legit point in how it looks - it seems to me that he and Send are not on the same page at all...there are times it looks like he's wanting the snap and Send is calling line coverage, then DA is calling coverage adjustments when Send looks back. They look like they aren't on the same page - they MIGHT BE, but they don't look that way. It was a legit observation, IMO, but it got taken to dizzying new heights and the actual legit part was lost.

Sorry I just cant figure out how you correlate. Your saying smooth is the opposite of stomp? That would be incorrect. Im not saying that they are smoothly placing their foot I am saying the whole transaction of the snap proceeds smoothly. Like the QB taps his foot and the ball is napped.

We dont have that. There are several taps, miscues on when to snap, center having to bend even further down multiple times for one snap. Sendlein is gonna have a bad back or neck by the time 16 games are over.

Actually vs the Rams there was a fumble for a TD excpet Breaston saved it. Again are you watching?

If you're going to bash someone for "not watching" at least get the plays correct. The fumbled snap was quickly recovered by DA and thrown away for an Intentional Grounding penalty. The almost TD saved by Breaston was a completely different play.

The colts on sunday night

I liked their solution to the stomp from shotgun - the announcers pointed it out.

the Left guard watches the QB for the snap - until the stomp; then touches the center and the center gets ready for the snap.

This allows the center to watch the d set up and call out the line plays---the left guard can hear the line calls from the center and he looks up just before the snap (a couple seconds) to identify who he blocks for the line assignment called.

Was pretty cool...and got rid of the annoying (i agree) stomping DA was doing during our debacle.

Hopefully someone on our caoching staff saw it.

I totally agree that something must be changed. The other defenses are keying on Sendlien. Whenever he drops his head to look at the qb, the defense is like a cocked gun because they know when he straightens his head the ball will be snapped in a one count. If you question it, go look at the tapes. If you really want proof look and the last Nner game last year. Watch the inside lb for the Falcons, why do you think they were getting such a tremendous inside push last weekend.
