See who disagrees with you and why:

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...n-richard-shermans-actions-were-embarrassing/

Virtually everyone who plays in the NFL has worked his butt off to get there---in addition prior to the rant, running over and rubbing it in on Crabtree and then giving him the choke sign was egregious---they should suspend a player for a game if he does what Sherman did.

I appreciate that John Madden has a different style and was from a generation where players were encouraged to "act like they had been there before."

The idea of suspending someone for displaying emotion on the field is ridiculous. Again, I can understand that it may not be a style that you prefer or can relate to, but that doesn't make it wrong, it just makes it different. He was penalized, as he should have been, but the game was over so it didn't hurt his team. I don't see where people can come off that his actions were "classless" as some have chosen to call it. Class has nothing to do with it as it is an issue of expression, and how different people choose to express themselves.

His plight to the NFL is no different than just about 90% of everyone else who worked the asses off to be there?

I disagree with the 90%. 90% of the NFL did grow up in the ghetto, get into and graduate from a prestigous university like Stanford, and then overcome being a 5th round draft pick to become one of the best in the NFL as his position. It isn't a common story.

I have been around enough college and professional football to have seen how getting to the NFL is more about athleticism than it is about hard work. Now, succeeding in the NFL is more about hard work because every player is a good athlete, but a vast number of NFL players fail because they have been carried and manuevered from high school to college and then to the pros without ever putting in the work and commitment required to succeed in the NFL.

Well see. Either way Fitz's cap number is going to need to come down, and likely significantly. He cant be making QB money anymore if we want to remain competitive.

Depends on how much hardball Fitz wants to play. This is one of those situations I dont want to say I told you so and hope im wrong.

I just don't see it happening THIS offseason. But I think something's gotta happen. that number just won't work moving forward if we're going to contend and by all accounts from this past season, this team does think and has shown it will be a force to be reckoned with.

I loved Cook coming out of college. Going in, I didn't even know who he was but noticed during Senior Bowl week that nobody, and I mean nobody, could get open on him. I know he missed his first year in Minny but I agree and think he'd be an excellent addition.

As for the draft, I like it except would add a speed rusher in there somewhere. Maybe in round 2 because I think the Cards will address Safety via free agency.

While I think Dee Ford might fit that mold best, Chris Smith really looked good at the Senior Bowl and I would love the Cardinals to take him in round 2.

If the Cards acquire a rookie starting quarterback in the 2015 offseason--even if the 2014 season is unsuccessful and that quarterback is a Top 5 pick--the Cards would be able to accomodate Fitz's contract until the end without any adjustments.

IMO, that was the intention of the team when the Cards extended Fitz. Let Fitz be the Steve Smith to whomever we get to play Cam Newton. That hasn't worked out, but as long as you're not shelling out $6-10M a year to a veteran quarterback, you can afford to pay SOMEONE on your offense "quarterback money".

I noticed him too. He looked really quick off the ball.

For 6'1 I was shocked to see he had 34" arms and at 260 seems to be the size the Cardinals are targeting. I was just impressed with how easily he played on his feet and how much burst he had off the edge. Didn't expect to see that from him as a college DE. We will see if the Cards take a flier.

He got off to a flying start this year for Ark. and then kind of slowed down. He has alot of pass rush moves to go with his speed too. I wouldn't mind him in round 2 or 3. In fact, hed be an excellent pick.

He seems like a Pittsburgh Steeler's type draft pick/LB, which is usually a good thing.
