Just want to make sure before I invest time in getting to know hockey more..
There was a story just a couple of days ago in ESPN on a Canadian group, who HAS the money, negotiating with the NHL to buy the team. They are also talking to Glendale. I have heard this all before, but I think the time is just about out. If the sale doesn't happen this season/offseason, I think the team is gone.
I would agree since it seems that the NHL is selling for only $170M. Is that the same price that it has been for everyone? That seems low to me for a sports team, even if they have been "losing" money (in quotes, because who really knows).I think this deal that finally happens. That group either buys the Yotes and works out an agreement w/ CoG and they stay or the CoG balks and the Yotes are moved.
While Daly declined to offer more details, a source close to the situation said one key sticking point was that Pastor’s bid financed the deal over a 15-year period while the league expects the entire deal to be completed within a three-to-five-year window, with the expected price still listed between $150 million and $170 million.
I've officially become numb to the situation. Just let them move.
