I'm securely, 100% now a darksider. Yes, that's right. A former optimist to the core...a guy who would see the light in every single bad game...I'm now darkside.

This team sucks. it has no heart. the kicker sucks SOOOOO hard. Cut rackers Now. a 30 yarder? Are you kidding me? Seriously!!! A thirty yarder. I KICK THIRTY FRICKING YARDERS!!!! SIGN ME!!! I WILL WIN GAMES FOR YOU AGAINST THE WORST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE!!!!! OMG

I hate my former self for having faith in this team. I hate that I thought they turned a corner vs. the Bengals.

Why am I now a darksider?

We were at home

We had a loud crowd, although I had to yell and flip off section 116 to get on their feet in the third quarter. But overall the crowd was WAY into it.

We got dominated by a BAD offense. Dominated. Owned.

in the late stages of the game we failed to get first downs...then we scored and FAILED to stop them from scoring.

We punted like crap...HORRID....crap.

We had to kick a flipping fg to get to OT. At this point...I was done with t he team. OT against this Niner squad with the history of the season at home with the ramifications of the game at hand???????? How the hell did it get to this point?????

So, we actually get a shot to win...a game that would have been a steal since we were DOMINATED BY THE WORST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE anyway...and we can't freaking call a timeout to stop a penalty??????????????? Then have to kick five more yards out for a 32 yarder???? AND EFFING MISS IT???????????????? A 32 yard FG????????

OMG.

I think we lose out. We can't beat the Browns...they kill us. We may beat atlanta. Seattle beats us. So does NO at home. The only hope we have now is beating STL but they will probably win just to beat us.

So, I now think we finish....oh....5-11 and I'm being generous...if we could lose a game we've already won I'd add that in.

I've NEVER been so disgusted to be a Cardinal fan in my entire life. NEVER. This is rock bottom people...just horrible.

My name is dreamcastrocks, and I approve this message.

I couldn't even stomach to come in here after gameday yesterday.

Dude, you are an optimist.

We will finish 5-11, McFadden will be on the board and we will trade down to get two picks in the first and pick a NT and a WR...both of which will be reaches.

your optimism is refreshing, though. :D

It appears that abomb won't be drinking the Hemlock with you. That's good, it will equalize the karma. I take it from reading this thread that we need to redo the playoff poll:

Will the Cardinals make the playoffs?

* Yes (64%, 74 Votes)
* No (36%, 42 Votes)

Total Voters: 116

The funny thing is that I WAS the resident darksider in our friendship. I have been surpassed by leaps and bounds.

7-9.

I'm into my 37th year with the Cards.

I've learned to not simply accept, but embrace the misery.

In an odd masochistic way, it has become fulfilling.

It adds certainty to my life.

I have no idea how I'd react to this team becoming really good.

Words can't even begin to describe my feelings. After seeing this same sad story play out for years and even fully expecting a classic melt down I was still in shock and disbelief at the level of incompetence on this team. I swear had I not watched it with my own eyes I would have thought they were trying to throw the game yesterday.

I dont know what to say, but someone who I thought was a friend of mine, the '07 Cardinals, just committed suicide and I feel pretty bad about it. I just wanted to let you know you are not alone there Donald. I feel your pain.

This is the time of year when we forget about the Cards and concentrate on family, buying presents for the holidays and occasionally watching college football in preparation for our super bowl: the draft.

There is always solice to be found by focusing on the Phoenix Suns as well.

That's exactly how I felt after watching the Tampa game.

The city of Glendale will be only slightly poorer financially because of the Cards pathetic performance. My boys and I have decided not to make the trip over for the Cleveland game, thereby saving myself a small fortune in tix, golf, hotel, rental car, Ruth's Chris etc. I just can't take it this week after watching the 9er game. My heart is just not in it.

I understand.

I really don't think I'll be going to the game this week. I just can't justify the expense of the tickets this close to Christmas & all...not to watch that disaster on the field...

That said, we'll probably have our best game of the season!

There's always a free game ticket for you LB.

One thing about this team is you just don't know what they're going to do next.

I just noticed one of my best friend's daughter's first birthday party is this Sunday...I am not sure now if I can make it at all, but I'll let you know!

Thanks so much!

My son caught one of those t-shirts they shoot into the stands yesterday. So on the way back to the car we say "well, at least we got a Card's t-shirt out of this disaster." Then we unwrap the shirt when we get back to the car and it's a flippin Gila River Casino shirt.

Talk about kick'n someone when they're down.

I've been a darksider for years. However my father-in-law is a new fan since retiring here last year. I tried to explain to him what it's like to be a Cardinal fan, but I think it's something you need to experience for yourself to totally understand what it's like.

Is everything
I'm beyond numb. I've been numb after games many a time. This is not numb.

This is cutting to my soul. I no longer have any happy thoughts when the cardinals are on my mind.

Red is quickly becoming akin to the color of vomit.

Ah, but if by miracle the Cards pull out a win against the Browns and somehow beat the Hawks you'll be back on the kool aid. Then comes the icepick in the forehead with a loss to Atlanta. It's too late. We are all part of the walking wounded. We can never escape.........

That's such a horrible scenario for Cardinal fans it'll probably come true. I can't believe you wrote that. I won't be able to sleep for a month now thinking about it.

I expect them to beat the browns. Precisely because they shouldn't.

They'll stay really close to the division race too but they will lose it in heartwrenching fashion.

I got a peek behind the veil for the first time ever...or I just opened my eyes when I looked behind there this time...it wasn't pretty. I won't be fooled by their snake oil promises again.

I've found that once I stopped getting season tickets that being a Cards fan was a lot easier.
