Clement will be given a last chance at RT this year........otherwise we would be going after John Tait (who we could most certainly get as he's from Phoenix). It appears that Graves and Green want to replace "BIG" with a FA like Jeff Goff. If we can get Goff, I think we will have seriously upgraded the O-Line.

On the CB side of things, I am, I'll admit, somewhat confused by our "lack of action"........not that we didn't go after Bailey or Shaun Springs, but that we haven't even invited Winfield, Bryant, Plummer or Taylor for a visit. Perhaps they are concerned about Winfield's size (5'9"), Taylor's age (approaching 31) but to have no apparent plans to look at anyone other than Macklin is perplexing. Clearly Winfield and Plummer are in serious play elsewhere and will be gone in short order.

Are they so convinced that Starks will come back healthy and set to assume his annointed role as the #1 CB......and that they have complete confidence with Wilson and his ability to convert? Are they assuming that the market will absorb all the CB's and that Barrett will have no choice but to resign with us...........and by default are they indirectly saying that he is on par with what was out there at the start of FA? Or do they feel that the answer is a serviceable CB like Macklin and that we'll pick up a solid draft pick at #33? I do share in everyone's frustration regarding this position for sure.

On the DT front......Ted Washington is not the player I envisioned when we determined that a DT in FA was a serious need. He's well into his 30's and I don't think we bring that age group to the table when you go fishing in FA......ditto Warren Sapp. I'll admit, Robaire Smith was appealing, but maybe I was swept along by his stock soaring during the early part of FA and didn't peel the onion skin back far enough to know he is a potential lockeroom hazard. Cornelius Griffin was never on my radar screen....wrong or right, time will tell.

That Wistrom is still in play is comforting and that he'll at least give us a chance to "sing our song of praises"live and in person. I would be happy with him, if we could close him. I'll be honest, Eric Hicks and this Berry dude don't send warm fuzzies through my body!

If we could end up with Goff, Wistrom and at least one CB over and above Macklin, I would consider that we made some good moves to improve ourselves.
