Not to turn this into a P&R discussion, but a large group of people got personal in P&R and it was all reported by a moderator. Thus, multiple bannings were issued including Cardsfanmd (and even a moderator).

To be fair, it has been quite "chippy" in there.

Great stuff CFIM!! It reaffirms my faith in the new direction the franchise has taken in the last 3-5 years. Michael is definitely a keeper, and I'm very encouraged that A-Dub and Q will finish their careers in Cardinal Red.

Thx for posting.

Yea but Graves can only do 1 contract at a time. Can they keep M. Bidwill after the 2009 season??. Time will tell. :)

Bite your tongue. Keep that up and suddenly Mike B will leave to become commissioner of the NFL or something.

An Unabashed Plug for the Blue Jays...

Of The Johns Hopkins U

If you have any sharp, skilled upperclassmen on your team at Davidsonville and are plugging them for college, don't forget to contact Hopkins coach, Dave Petromala.

After watching JHU get creamed by UVa in the NCAA tournament, it's become increasingly evident they need a big recruiting class to replenish the talent on their roster.

I'm assuming Davidsonville is located in AZ - It's become a growing trend that good (make that "great") lacrosse players no longer have to come from Maryland, Long Island and Central New York & we need all the help we can get.

PS Sorry to go OT, but, since the banning issue blew up this thread anyway, I figured what the heck!

PPS A huge lax fan and NFL luminary is none other than Bill Bellicheck (who's been present at several Hopkins games and was in attendance at the semis and finals in Foxboro.

Davidsonville is here in Md. We are a top 5 program nationally every year and had former D-ville kids on all four of the final four teams seemingly every year. Currently there are 4 of the top 20 recruits in the country for this year's class that grew up in our program.

Funny you are a Hopkins guy because your best player (Mike Evans) is a buddy of mine and is also Davidsonville product.

As a big lacrosse guy I love to see how much the game is growing and spreading. The other areas have a ways to go though :D. Crabcakes are essential in raising a lacrosse superstar. Also dont forget upstate NY (Syracuse area). West Genessee HS is the winningest program in the country.

they started by getting a goalie from...............right here in Phoenix -- Brophy Prep.

Local highschool lacrosse is small but growing -- two schools: Brophy and Scottsdale Chapparal are the class of the sport locally -- playing for the state Champ for something like 5 years in a row.

Brophy's goalie is getting a full ride at Johns Hopkins. Chapparal is sending an Attackman to Cornell.

I went to Desert Mountain; last year was my senior season and we beat Chap at their house, and lost to Brophy at their house by one without our starting goalie. Beating Chap at their home field was the greatest personal sports moment for me.

TOTALLY OT. haha

Crabcakes are essential in raising a lacrosse superstar.
Since Costco (among other places) now sells canned lump meat and back-fin crab, making Maryland-style crabcakes in central NJ is no longer an unattainable dream.

Plus, 4 times each summer, I make a 4 hour round-trip "crab run" to a joint in South Jersey (under the shadow of the Walt Whitman Bridge to Philly) to pick up "live jumbos" and bring them home to steam.

Word of caution to gringo crab lovers - especially in Greater NYC and Philly: Just because the menu in a restaurant says: "Maryland style crabs (or crabcakes)" doesn't mean they, in fact, are.

Regarding the goalie from Brophy. Thank heavens. The current Hopkins goalie (Gvasden) either needs to (a) get a lot better (starting with clears), (b) be pushed or (c) be replaced.

Yo Skkorp - As a Notre Dame alum, you can jump into this conversation. The Irish made the Final 8 in lax for the first time in many years. (I believe they lost to the Terps).

I was probably remiss in not including DM in the lacrosse mix -- they too seem to always be there.

fwiw-- Brophy's goalie moving up is supposedly just as good

eh, youre fine, we haven't earned it yet. my senior year, talent wise, I think we were the best team in the league. but our coach (who had won state championships in Long Island) had his hours changed at the prison he worked at, and our team fell apart because our equipment manager took over.:bang:
