From what I have seen, our D just pplays a heck of a lot better at home. This isn't a weird thing, all teams do. it is showing that we are proigressing, and finally making it a home field advantage.

I don't know. We did a better job on Frank Gore in SF than we did on Leonard yesterday.

And just remember if it was not for the defense on Sunday we would have lost the game.

If the defense doesn't allow the Rams to score 31 points we don't need the INTs to save the game.

I remember when Texas would lose 45-42 or 42-38 and people would complain about all the mistakes the offense made and never say a word about the defense. I have a theory about why that happens. Discussing that theory makes for good conversation at the tailgate.

Emotion plays a huge part in every NFL game.

As much as we all hoped it wouldnt happen, there was some degree of let down against the Rams.

This team understands how to be the underdog and be motivated by it -- it needs to learn how to be the favorite.

The Rams were the far more desperate team and played like it --

but for all the poor aspects of the play of the Cardinals--they did have an 11 point lead with three minutes to play in the game.

I am not going to apologise for a road win in the division

He may be a back up on the Rams...but, he's no scrub.
Exactly what I was going to post. I think the exception was taking to the term scrub rather than backup.

It's no crime to be beaten by a backup, but it is to be beaten by a scrub. Leonard is a very talented player and I think could be a starter in the NFL. Here's a list of teams he might well start for:

Cleveland Browns
Houston Texans
Tennessee Titans
Detroit Lions
Green Bay Packers
New York Giants

And, maybe:
New England Patriots (Maroney has been less than stellar this year)
Chicago Bears (neither has Benson)

Due to injury, he’d certainly be playing for/getting time in:
Tampa Bay
San Francisco
Denver

This game was not as close as the score should have been 34-23 as we basically went prevent and let them run the clock out as they drove down the field NOT calling time outs or going out of bounds. It was actually kind of shocking they seem to have given up on even trying to save time.

I don't think Leonard is a Brock Forsey or Nick Goings, but he will never be a long term starter in the NFL. I thought our D, especially Dockett and Watson, were flat today. They can't be fired up for all 16. It's natural that they would let down after what they faced in the first four games.

Dockett destroyed Incognito the entire 2nd half, setting up everything good the defense accomplished after halftime, in my opinion. I do agree about the defense being flat most of the day.

We also disagree on Leonard.

Yes, Dockett came on in the 2nd half and it's no coincidence that's when the D played better. I think he got ticked off at Incognito finally.

As for Leonard, I don't see anything too special. Average vision, average speed, average elusiveness... he's the latest Gerry Cooney of RBs IMO. Of course, I could be wrong. That wouldn't exactly be news.

The single most positive thing that I, as a Rams fan, took from that game, was that Leonard looked good against a good defense.

Yes he did. Time and time again, he made something out of nothing.
