I do hate the questioning of Kyler’s “mental leadership” & “pouty-ness” during a bad game. It’s the same stupid ass criticism folks put on Cam throughout his career.

Newsflash, no one is going to be happy or all jolly when they’re having a bad game. Not Brady, Rodgers, Mahomes, Wilson, Herbert, Dak, Lamar, Allen, Watson, Burrow, etc. I’ve seen games from all of them when they’re having a bad game & their head is just not there that game, unfortunately. They don’t want to be bothered.

Criticize the hell out of his play on the field because he rightfully deserves it.

He got the team to the freaking Super Bowl with a bad O-Line. I’d say winning the AFC with a bad O-Line is pretty elite. Only one team is a champion.

Kyler Murray hasn’t even shown he can win a regular season game to get us into the playoffs no matter what he has on the O-line so there’s no comparison.

One has shown the ability to elevate and overcome a bad O-line to win PLAYOFF games and CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP games. Kyler couldn’t elevate against a 1 win team to merely get in the playoffs. There’s. World of difference there.
Not quite.. Fischer the anchor or that oline got injured late in the AFC championship game. They also lost another starter in the playoff run as well.

On the Kyler blames his teammates for everything and sulks thing, just came across my FB page he gave his entire offensive line custom fitted golf clubs this year. Teammates seem to like him so I don't think that's the problem.

He has lots of things he needs to improve on, I don't think his teammates see that stuff the way some people here do. And again one of the shots FOX showed us Sunday was highly misleading as Talib admitted later on, Kyler was actually not hanging head looking at the ground, he was watching film on the tablet but FOX cut the shot so we couldn't see the tablet.

You can't fake respect and trust... and you most certainly can't buy it. Players see how other players, most notably the QB, conducts himself on the actual field of battle, when the bullets are live and flying.
None of us really know how the team is feeling about Kyler. Deep within each of them, sits feelings of complete trust and respect, or, reservations and distrust.

IMHO, based upon what I've seen from Kyler (not his words to the media) in games, on the field and on the sidelines, he is far from the sort of leader typically associated with upper-echelon leaders. I could be completely off base, but I have a pretty strong gut feel about this. Time will tell of course and I really hope I'm wrong about Kyler.

He's not a natural outspoken leader no I would agree with that. My point is I don't think the sulky stuff people complain about is all that big of a problem on the team. I think his teammates get that he hates to lose and hates it when he makes a bad play. I would bet AJ Green watches that replay he's thinking I can't blame him I dogged it.

I guess my point is I don't think his teammates have the same issues with that people on this board seem to, I'm sure they're concerned about how poorly he played Sunday and I'm sure they're all expecting him to play much better against the Colts.

He has to play better but I have to admit it's a bit surprising to me as bad as that loss was that so many people are just piling on about how bad the guy is. There are a BUNCH of NFL teams who'd gladly take him off our hands IMO.

Kyler has to get better, and Kliff has to learn how to be better himself

I disagree... though, winning can often cure a great number of ills... That said, if Kyler can't get this team into the post season AND can't produce post season W's, I can assure his poor leadership skills will become a far more destructive cancer.

I'm surprised, too. He was stinky last week -- -83 DYAR. I think that people are just frustrated because the offense was bad and we're used to Kyler having at least a few transcendent moments among the dreck.

BTW, Antoine Wesley was the worst TE or WR in DYAR last week. Only 1 catch for a first down and failed to convert on four chances when targeted with six yards or less to go.

It’s just only 82CardsGrad going overboard with it. It’s obvious it’s personal with him & Kyler. Everybody is criticizing him deservedly, but are still rooting for him to get it done.

Leadership is measured on different intervals depending on the character of a guy, I doubt Kyler has a leadership problem and the way athletes are now that is even more skewed if you are identifying that quality by past QBs... he has a bonehead impatient tick right now which is hampering him

This is puzzling for sure

Run D went from a strength to a weakness over night

The run D has been crap lately, for sure... But they've held up well enough to win for the most part, Hard to win when you throw picks in the redzone over and over, or turn the ball over in the redzone, because your Coach only kicks FG's at a point in the game, when he SHOULD be going for it.

LOL… definitely not personal at all… Won’t go back and dig up my posts from Day One with Kyler, but just know that I’ve been very consistent with him. Freakish athletic ability. But serious concerns about his size and his inability to consistently produce from the pocket. He’s fantastic at playing High School style football, which is aided by Kliffy who, likewise, seems to lean heavy toward that style of ball.
But until Kyler can prove he can play at a high level and produce W’s when it really matters, I’ll continue to express my grave concerns, which again - are not at all personal.

It's probably just calling him Kliffy, the same way you dubbed the Leenert, Matty. This is only my opinion, but to me it brings an air of condescension towards a person we really know very little about.

Indeed, Leinart crashed burned and to me, calling him Matty was just an insult on a personal level.
Maybe Wilksy didn't quite have the ring to it so I never heard you refer to him as such.

Kyler is a better passer than Cam.

Also Kyler is worried about getting hit by defenders. There is no way Kyler can progress as a passer without standing in pocket and take a hit now and then like all other QBs have to.

May it is unfair to ask Kyler due to his size but there is no other way out right?

He does seem to get a bit skittish after a sack/pressure early in a game. Loses faith in his O line quickly

Kyler is 1-3 in his last 4 games and that 1 was against Chicago where they basically gifted us the game.

So far 2021 is looking a lot like 2020.

In those games his comp % is down to around 65%. From closer to 75% previously. His ANY/A is all 3 losses was less than 6. Average 10 rest of the year. And in the 3 defeats he had 1 TD and 5 INT's.

As much as I've been disappointed by the team I wonder if that's just a consequence of Kyler being so poor they have just had much more to do on defense than usual.

If we're being fair and honest, K1 and the offense stinking up the field sure doesn't inspire their defensive teammates. I'm confident it's the opposite instead.

This team is in a dangerous place right now. If they fold up completely and lose out, then one would all most be forced to conclude that Kliff has lost the locker room. Some difficult decisions might have to be made if that were true.

This is a front running team. We can't stop other teams from running 13 play drives 80 yd. drives that eat up half the quarter. I don't understand how we dominated the Titans and stopped Derrick Henry and now we can't stop a 4th string running back. I know we don't have Watt but good Lord.
The real question is when you know you won't have Watt back until playoffs and even then is questionable, why Vance hasn't or at least it appears he hasn't made adjustments to accommodate for his absence. It seems he just plugged in another guy and expects the same type of experience and knowledge Watt brought to the table. If he hasn't figured it out by now I don't see any reason to believe he will have some solution to stopping Taylor from running for 150-200 yds. against us. I fully expect the Colts to dominate TOP by a large margin. I expect to see the Colts having 42-47 minutes of possession. Wentz will probably not have to throw much so he will be a marginal factor in this game.

I think Kliff is back even if they lose out because Bidwill will not be willing to eat the balance of his contract while paying another HC. They (Keim and Bidwill) will use the excuse of progress was made as they won 10 games an improvement over 2020 and late season injuries as why they piled up those loses in the second half of the season.

A quote from Keim on December 5th on Burns and Gambo: "It really goes to validate the the things Michael (Bidwill) and I saw in him when we made that hire, and he's obviously earned it," Keim said. "The guy has done a tremendous job. He and our organization have grown together. We're really excited about the future when you look at the work he's put in, the improvements he's made, the improvements we've made with the roster."

I think you're probably right cardpa, about K2 being back next year, just on the strength of the 10 wins.

But make no mistake that Mike B has his pride and ego involved in this endeavor, and we were flat out embarrassed vs. DET. We didn't look like we belonged on the same field with a 1-11-1 team.

What if IND and DAL both run us off the field like DET did, or even worse? Both games on national TV? And then say we lose at home to SEA, followed by a blow out loss in the playoffs (if we make it)?

Maybe your right that he still comes back in that scenario. He probably does. But I also think if things play our that badly, he might not. Let's just say that I think it creates a reasonable chance that he gets fired.

God I hope the season doesn't end like that. How awful would that be? Let's at least get a win against SEA, and look competitive in the playoff game. That would give us hope for next year.

Green is passed the days of being a speed receiver. If he has the opportunity his agility can shake a defender but he now plays more like a tight end. He wins a high percentage of 50-50 balls. He depends on warding off defenders, out-leaping them and using his claw-like hands. He’s rarely going to get a lot of separation. He will be most successful with good QB ball placement.
The criticism isn’t that AJ isn’t fast. It’s that he didn’t run his route with any attempted speed or urgency. Go back and watch it. It’s like a jog. Not a player in the league that can’t guard a dude running an out jogging.

Kyler is a pouter, and I would guess it rubs some of the players the wrong way. When I see HIM make a mistake, and then sit on the bench by himself pouting between series....to me it looks like his is mad..but not at himself. It screams "Come on guys, Don't you know I'm the best...why aren't you all as good as I am".

Its a really hard personality type to root for. Someone who has been told, and believed they were a super star their entire life. He needs a huge dose of humility IMO, and to be knocked down a few pegs, realizing that he is not the second coming. He is a high pick, high price QB who puts up good numbers in garbage time, but buckles under pressure. Until he proves everyone wrong...thats who he is. IMO if Kyler were ever truly held accountable by coaches or other players, he would just pout away and go play baseball and stream video games.
I get that vibe too, but truth is none of us know him. He’s prettt closed off in public. The team definitely knows him. So we could very well be wrong. He could need the down time to process things individually and the team knows this. We are guessing at what’s really happening at best.
