I am guessing after we get our butts handed to us against Baltimore in game 3 of the regular season. Just a guess.

I'm guessing it'll be a race between Draft Darren McFadden and Draft Jake Long threads.

I will be at that game..... No way we lose big. I got a good feeling about that game a couple of nights ago.

I think we might squeak out a victory. Then all of the news sites will be giving us all kinds of love.

I already did a thread on McFadden prior to this year's draft. I agree w/ K9 about Long though. I was wondering if anyone knows who the stud secondary players are who will be availiable this year.

side note----I too will be at the game in B'more and let me honestly say I think that may be the Card's toughest game all season. Baltimore is always good and they are 10X's better at home. It is early in the season and the crowd will be so pumped. Everyone around here is really excited about McGahhe and I am expected McNair to have a much better season now that he is comfortable in the Offense. IMO Kyle Boller is starter worthy and if McNair gts hurt at all this year Boller will steal his job.

I'm assuming you mean cornerbacks, because I don't see us drafting a safety in the first round...

Lindy's lists Arizona's Antoine Cason, San Jose State's Dwight Lowry, Georgia's Paul Oliver, and South Florida's Mike Jenkins as the top senior prospects at cornerback. The top Junior prospects are Wisconsin's Jack Ikegwuonu, Ohio State's Malcolm Jenkins, and Nittany Lion Justin King.

The thing about the Steeler game is that if people thought that UofP was one-sided at the Dallas game last season, wait until Steeler Nation shows up. The Steelers can get a big crowd at a home-friendly stadium like Invesco Field at Mile High. At UofP, the could be in the majority. If the Cards can win that game under those conditions, then it'll be an interesting season. But I don't really see that happening.

Didn't Oliver just enter the supplemental draft?

That's right. Totally forgot. I wonder how he's doing in camp...

...the next senior prospect on Lindy's list is Dejuan Tribble of Boston College. My favorite prospect right now is junior Aqib Talib of Kansas. I haven't seen him play or anything, but he has a dope name.

My T5 Corners
Malcolm Jenkins, Ohio State
Antoine Cason, Arizona
DeJuan Tribble, BC
Brandon Flowers, VT
CB Justin King, Penn St.

I somewhat wish we didn't sign Terrance Holt so we could sign Kenny Phillips out of The U.

I am from Little Rock so see Darren on the news every night. Most do not know his running mate Felix Jones is just as fast or faster and an All American kickoff returner. Jones is a possible NFL first rounder but is under the radar because of McFadden. Running alongside Darren last year he gained around 1100-1200 yards. Arkansas is also bringing back their tallented FB who was injured much of last year and will surely be a draft pick in the NFL. Great blocker and and can catch the ball and run with it. With McFadden being a good passer teams are going to have a hard time covering what they call their wild hog play with both Jones and McFadden in the backfield and a possible all american wideout at 6'6". We are not expected to be able to beat LSU but will create a lot of havoc in the SEC West. McFadden is really really strong and fast. Reminds me of Hershel Walker. I expect us to win 10 games this year. We have a decent QB but not a great one.

Jones is really good but he's under the radar because of his size.

They list him at 6' 190 but he looks much smaller. McFadden is legit probably the best player in the country this year.

You know -- the regular season is 17 weeks long, and we get 16 doses of unequivocal reality. It will come soon enough.

I would really prefer to spend the remaining five weeks of preseason enjoying the possibility of what could be. Following football is supposed to be entertainment.

I say the Question is when do we start the Draft DE - Chris Long to replace Antonio Smith Threads.

We can start talking about 2008 Free agents as well. But a word of caution the 2008 free agent list looks like crap and thats even before the 2007 season starts and players start to get extended or get franchised.

Cason will be a Cardinal next year.

Likely our biggest need on the team as well.

Don't worry, we expect to find some players after the June 1 cut down date.
