The signing of Edge threw a monkey wrench into the ASFN thought pattern.

I would say a vast majority of ASFN'er were thinking Lendale White at #10. Heck , half the nation thought that until Denny pulled the wool over people's eyes.

Sidenote: Denny is never straight forward with the press. At least he is consistant about it. We know he will always speak in half truths, and riddles. I just learned to accept it and look for what he does not what he says.

Back to the topic at hand.

What do we do with the 10th pick in the draft ?

I see 3 options:

1. Stay at 10 and pick up Vernon Davis

2. Trade up with Bryant Johnson, and Calvin Pace, and mid-round pick and try to get D'Brickshaw Ferguson.

3. Trade down (possibly with Denver) and get more picks. I really really like the monster DT (Broderick Bunkley) out of FSU, and this would allow us to pick up another OL.

I would take either of your options, in that order.

I'd be happy w/ either of these options. However #2 seems less likely to happen. Who above us is in need of Johnson and Pace?

I hope the draft (first 3 rounds) go like this:

1. Vernon Davis
2. Best O-lineman available
3. Omar Jacobs or best QB available

BPA at 10: Vernon Davis, or Hawk if he slips to us...I'm all tingly over the idea of Davis in this offense though...both should be game changers for years to come, so if we get either I'll be dancing in the streets.

Agree, 'cept if a good free safety prospect is available, I'd take him in th 2nd or 3rd. If Huff and Davis are both there @#10, I'd take Davis though.

I would take Huff over Davis. I just don't Michael Huff will be there at 10.

Huff would be a perfect fit at FS.

Huff or Hawk is he falls to 10. I would like to see us trade up for Leinhart, but chances are slim. Whoever falls to 10 will be a great fit for us. If Huff is the one at 10, he is more then likely the BPA and fills a big need at FS.

BPA - except RB!!!!

And that's a great position to be in!!!!! It isn't like the Mack years where we had to reach to fill a roster spot. Sit back, consider trade offers (adding picks rather than moving up), and enjoy the show. The only reason to move up is to gnab D'Brickashaw.

Can't argue with Hawk or V. Davis. Either one will have a huge impact on their side of the ball.

I go for door number 1. Stay where we are. To give up picks and move up would get us a player that we are after. Cost more money and lose a later pick. To much to lose. Trading down means more picks, but if it is offensive line that we are looking at there will be plenty of talent in rounds 3-5.I would like to see us pick at ten
Davis, Hawk, Huff

Look for a bpa in round two
Target line in rounds 3 & 4
Pick up a QB along the way in round 3 or 4

Look for a QB second string with a trade like a Griese. Pick up another lineman FA. Wait till JUne and see what else will be out there or after camp in the last cuts. Lots of oppertunities.
