So who is ready for the Matt Leinart era to begin?

Based on what? His performance in college? The fact that he was a top 10 pick?
Based on some of the flashes of brilliance he's shown in the NFL.

He's not without faults, but it's not like he's proven to be completely inept, either. He's looked like a young, talented QB.

I hope he does well, but we'll find out. I like Matt..I think he's got the stuff for sure.

I'll double down on that...lets find a solid backup jic to compete with "the saint". The time has come for matt to show his stuff...the learning curve is sort of over. Next priority is make dock, wilson and q happy campers.

Of course there is the Leinert + a 3 to Denver trick for Cutler...nah, I'll stick with Matt.

Based on what? His performance in college? The fact that he was a top 10 pick? I mean, he's done some good things, but he's also had many bad moments in the NFL. Two years ago when handed the job there were many games that Leinart started and struggled horribly, only to have Warner come in and toss the rock all over the field. It's a little late to pull the "well they were down and were forced to pass" argument when he just led the CARDINALS TO A SUPER BOWL. At best, you can hope for an above average game manager out of Matt these days. I wonder who Fitz would prefer to be starting QB?

Be careful what you wish for...I predict if Warner goes to SF, it'll be the Niners with the NFC west crown next year, and a lot of people wishing we had Kurt around for another 2.

I'd agree if Fitz, Q and Breaston were heading to SF with him...

Warner would make the niners a lot better, but he won't be nearly as effective there as he was here. Don't forget, we're not that far removed from the turnover-prone Warner. I think the system and his WRs had a lot to do with his success here.

Now, that said, I think he's a better QB right now then Leinart and the Cards will be worse of next season should he leave. But, maybe the Cards will be better off in the long run because Matt starts getting some reps under his belt with what looks to be a consistent philosophy and coaching staff.

So, in short: if Warner stays, great. We could use him next season. If he goes, that's okay, too.

He better have some hot receivers to unload the ball in SF.

My money is on the niners not even making him an offer.

His agent ought to be throwing Tampa Bay out there as a potential bidder, because that at least might give Rod Graves a momentary pause.

JTS

But to answer the question, yes I'm ready (I just don't think it's going to happen).

I don't think we are worse than 9-7 with Leinart. We might not get 3 playoff victories, but it is rare in any team to have 3 playoff victories without winning it all.
