Thanks for sharing that. It's good to hear that there is a football team in the Valley with two mature quarterbacks with team-first attitudes.

Also that field-

was extremely wet, you could see the water splash up when a player fell etc. So those balls had to have been a little slippery. All in all Matt looked fine for the first game. No deer in the headlights look for him!!

On the Cardinals Live show, Leinart said that JJ wasn't his primary receiver on that play.

He also said he only had that one audible. (They asked if he did any more audibles).

(He even took the blame for receiver's drops. I forget which one, but he said it was a bad throw even as they were showing the replay with the ball thrown right to the receiver's hands.)

Yeah as K9 said you could visibly see Leinart reading the defense, something that guys like Josh and Jake and now Navarre couldn't do in year 2 or 3, and he was doing it with a couple of days of practice under his belt.

Very impressive debut I can't wait to see what he does against the Bears albeit likely in limited minutes. We'll see 3rd preseason I figure Warner gets a full half but Green may go with Matt the whole 2nd half and just give Navarre et al more work in the last game?

Would be intriguing to alternate Matt and Kurt in the first half so Matt gets work with the starters, but that's just asking for controversy, and probably not the best idea for that reason alone.

My thoughts exactly. He knew precisely what he was doing, no second guessing and all action all the time. I loved what I saw from Matt with just a tiny bit of work in practice.

Mid season when he's needed, the guy WILL come through. Take it to the bank.

Leinhart clearly showed field presence and lack of fear. He looked like he knew what he was doing. I think we got a winner if he can stay healthy.
