Either sign a QB to compete with Kyler, or draft one, like Ewers, if he falls to the 2nd. Kyler is no longer allowed to just sit back and own the position. Use the existing cap space to add a pass rusher or two.

Draft for defense. No more adding guys so Kyler gets more excuses, he can't throw anyone open. I'm fine with adding more linemen though, become a running offense.

I'm okay with keeping Petzing, but would prefer to move on from him if someone more proven at OC is available.

Beg Kyler to leave for the A's.
Please do not waste a second rounder on Ewers my god. Maybe we could take a flyer on Cade Klubnik.

It doesn't have to be Ewers. But it absolutely cannot be a player the caliber of Klubnik, who is going to go undrafted or be a late rounder if he comes out. If I didn't think Cousins and Rodgers were washed (with Rodgers also being nuts), I'd suggest one of them.

We need a player with the actual clout to come in and COMPETE, not for the backup role, but the starter role. No Tunes or Ridders.

What mythical offense is this? One where he gets out of the pocket and makes throws on the run… like the atrocious Pick 6 against Seattle… or the ABOMINABLE interception that was called back against the Pats… or today’s two-fer atrocious pick late in the 4th quarter or how about the ball he bounced in the dirt to Higgins?

He is a mid QB, who chokes more under pressure than any high profile QB I’ve ever seen.

.The pick was horrible now that I've seen the replay where McBride is.

the one to Higgins I almost understand, that play was designed to look like a run and then McBride leaks out, but they tackled McBride. Kyler clearly assumed they're going to call the penalty for defensive holding. The design of the play is such that with McBride getting taken down there's one receiver on that side of the field and one on the otehr, and the one on the left is just standing there I guess because Marv knew the play wasn't designed for him. Higgins has like 3 guys around him because again he's the only guy in the pattern . So I don't actually think Kyler threw the ball to Higgins, I think he just threw it in that direction to avoid getting hit on what he thought was a free play.

Immediately after he threw it he turned to the ref and like McBride was asking where is the flag Clowney clearly held McBride.

So that one I kind of understood.

I've watched every Ewers game, he has the best OL in CFB and still manages to look terrible. Ewers IS Ridder, he has never been the reason his team won. Klubnik just put up a stellar performance against the #1 defense in CFB in a high pressure situation, he could be a Purdy pick if he's actually stays that low, which I doubt. Analysts are predicting that Klubnik is going to fly up draft boards.

I literally just read multiple articles in the past two days suggesting Klubnik should stay in school. But again, this isn't about stumping for Ewers, it's about drafting or signing someone who by default isn't sitting completely behind Kyler with no chance of playing.

It's time for Kyler to play for his job. The free pass to stink it up is over.

The key forward is just pretend that MHJ isn't here, that he doesn't exist, that he never existed. The only 1st round pick we had last year was Darius Robinson, whose rookie season was marred by injury. For some reason Monti completely neglected the WR room and thats why 2024 sucked. The plan going forward is to sign a WR1 in free agency and load up on DL in an excellent DL draft.

Kyler is still Kyler, but maybe with a good secondary (primary?) receiving option to McBride he will have an easier time. It turns out Michael Wilson wasn't a steal in the 3rd round, and Dortch is still just Dortch. Darnold was below mediocre for years and looked amazing with 2 elite receiving options, maybe it could happen to Kyler?

The running game is still great, the secondary is developing nicely. Robinson will be more impactful next season, BJ Ojulari will recover from his ACL and turn into a nice pass rusher. We might even be able to sign his brother Azeez.

If we sign a serious difference maker at WR I will be optimistic next year, "he who shall not be named" can be stuck as the sacrificial X and run go routes all game since his straight line speed seems to be the only thing he has going for him. If we go into the next season with the non existent, imaginary entity as our WR1 I will be the biggest doomer on this board.

Other teams have come back from worse than missing on the #4 pick. Broncos traded 2 1sts and 2 2nds for Russ only to release him and eat 85 mill in dead cap. The picks the Broncos gave up were #5, #9, #37 and #40. In the mean time we can just pretend that in 2024 we had pick #27 as our only first rounder, it makes the whole thing less psychologically painful.
You make some good points but at the end of the day, Kyler is still gonna do dumb poo, hell, it may even get worse with more WR talent? He'll take more chances because he has more options. His int against the Panthers was dumb as fudge & it actually looked like Mcbride was open underneath. As a lifelong Cardinals fan, I hope all the things happen that you said but I'm not holding my breath & Kyler ain't changing, he is what he is, a mediocre QB with scrambling ability that's too short.

Right but you still want to put as much talent around him as you can so when he's NOT the guy, that guy has better talent to work with.

.The pick was horrible now that I've seen the replay where McBride is.

Even worse, Kyler has admitted that he SAW McBride open and decided to throw that pathetic duck 20 yards short for the interception anyway.

Plain and simple, this is not a cerebral QB, who makes BAD decisions, having too much confidence in an arm that fails him too many time to count and too little heart to use his legs in a way to make them count as much as they should.

yep I heard him say it in the postgame. I went for the TD. Which made no sense just move the chains.

But from everything I’ve read here, moving on from him now is cheaper than 2026. If we are going to move on it appears now is better than later.
Some people have posted that, or that it will be just as bad in 2026, but I don't believe that's accurate.

Per OTC, if cut before 1 June 2025, Murray carries a dead cap charge of $58.5M, and a net cap cost of $15.2M. It's quite possible to eat that amount and still field a viable roster, but given that it's Bidwill's team, it's much more realistic to envision Murray being cut before 1 June 2026, when his dead cap charge would be "only" $17.9M, and there would be a net savings of $35.3M.

Oddly, Murray's cap charge this year is $49.1M, but in 2025 it dips to "only" $43.3M, before rising again in 2026 to $53.3M.

Not a lot of options

I don't want to draft a QB. I truly dislike this QB class and nobody good is there at #15.

If someone like the Raiders are dumb enough to take Kyler the options are,

Sam Darnold - This isn't risk free. Our scheme is not the same as Minny and he may be a product of scheme as well as he has played.
Kirk Cousins - He's been poor but that scheme doesn't suit him. Very low PA and he's always been a high PA guy. Would be a 1 year placeholder until 2026 draft.
Kenny Pickett/Justin Fields - You hope for a Darnold like resurrection for a former 1st round pick like Pickett or Fields.

It's less if traded though right?

In all actuality they continue building the team & run it back another year with Kyler. The sad part is he'll start playing good & fool people, then here comes the boneheaded Kyler again. That int was so damn dumb, he had Mcbride open for the 1st down. There was another play when he scrambled, got close to the 1st down, could've had it if he dove but he's too scared to get hit. Rather than watch the iPad after a dumb mistake to possibly correct what went wrong, he just hangs his head.
