Post-practice update

Coach Ken Whisenhunt said after today's practice that the starting lineup will remain unchanged from Saturday's game against San Diego.
That means Calvin Pace will start at outside linebacker over Darryl Blackstock. Eric Green and Rod Hood will be at the corners, with Terrence Holt at free safety

First roster moves

The team released the following eight players: cornerback TRAVAROUS BAIN, defensive tackle RAY BLAGMAN, tight end JOHN BRONSON, guard JON HAMEISTER-RIES, wide receiver GREG LEE, safety HANIK MILLIGAN, kicker RICKY SCHMITT, and wide receiver TODD WATKINS. The team has also placed wide receiver AHMAD MERRITT (ankle) and tackle OLIVER ROSS (triceps) on injured reserve.

In other news, Antrel Rolle has been working on the phrase "Do you want fries with that?".

thats awful

get rid of Pace now

he didnt even get a tackle last week, and was routinely nowhere near the ball

there's no doubt in my mind he's easily replaced by a waiver acquisition

I guess that makes him a shut-down LB. The Chargers were obviously only running to the opposite side of the field.

:sarcasm:

Once Chike went down, there was never going to be a winner in the Pace/Blackstock battle.

I'll be pulling for whomever is on the field all year. If it's Pace, then so be it. I just hope I'm not pulling for a LB with our #1 pick next year.

Go Cards!!!

I dont even think Pace played Saturday... did anyone see him on the field?? Blackstock didn't do anything great, but I at least so him around the ball a handful of times

I am re-watching the game...just about through the 1st qtr.

Pace started and hasn't been a liability so far. He looks athletic and only on one play (he was double teamed) did they run to his side for a nice gain...he ended up getting back in on the tackle.

I really don't like Wells. On one play..Jonson was blocking his man and Wells was blocking nobody and was turned toward the LT. He stuck his butt out and into Johson's man. LMAO.

So Chike still not on IR.....interesting

And Watkins gone, McCoy safe for another week, but Milligan gone? His lack of ability at safety play could mean that Morey could stick as the special team guy and a 6th WR?

man, it's really too bad Chik went down. I've been pleasantly surprised by the way the O-line has played and the way Green has come on, but that's such a gaping hole at LBer that I fear will have a pretty damning effect on the entire D and not much left to plug it.
