Also that throw to Seals Jones for the long gain where I think Gresham ran the wrong pattern and actually was reaching up for the ball himself. That was a flat out perfect throw in a unnecessarily tight window because 2 guys were in the same area.

And the other throw to Seals Jones on the post route on the left side of the field. He had quite a few today that could not have been placed better than where they were thrown.

But what I liked was his pocket presence. He didn't take any dumb sacks threw it away when he had to.

He made some great throws the WR let him down today

That was one of the things that really stood out to me too. He knew when he had time. He knew when he had to get it out. He knew when to scramble. He knew when to throw it away. And stood in and took some hits to deliver the ball.

His pinpoint accuracy was great, but his pocket presence seemed other level.

yup. his pocket presence was something else for his first start. And his ability to stay in the pocket, know he was going to take a lick, but still deliver a dart downfield was impressive as well.

Not sure why on those last two scenarios I used 28 pass attempts. Adjusting for 27 attempts for either Larry or Williams making their catch the numbers are:

Larry makes TD catch
20/27 74.1% 293yards 3TD 0int 133.7 QBR

Williams gets foot down (which would negate Larry’s dropped TD above)
20/27 74.1% 309yards 3TD 0int 148.5 QBR

yeah... as much as I think so much has gone wrong from a GM/Coaching standpoint, I just can't put a lot of blame here.

If there's any blame, it's on the medical staff for not figuring out how to get that kid healthy for two years and then BAM! He's a super stud again once he gets to a new squad.

Heard before the start of the season on 98.7 that he feels a lot better in a cool climate then in AZ. The heat could have been effecting his illness.

The other one to RSJ to the Cards sideline on the final drive was better. Wagner had it covered but it was perfectly placed.

Yeah both were amazing throws. The 2nd one the one you mentioned he had to drop over a defender and allow RSJ to stay in bounds. The one I pointed out he had to drop it over a defender while also keeping it away from the other 2 players, Gresham and his defender who were in the area(mistakenly I assume).

Palmer could make those throws, Warner could make those throws, I'm not sure of if there's been any other Cards QB in Arizona that could have? Not just arm strength but the touch to get it over the defender but catchable for the receiver.

Yeah that was one of my knocks on him at UCLA, he missed too many of those throws in college IMO. But that one to JJ I still don't know how he dropped it the ball literally dropped into his hands.

Josh threw the ball amazingly. There will always be a drop or 2, but it was really bad yesterday. Josh, just keep doing what you were doing and don't let it get in your head (I don't think you will). It was such a thrill to see those passes.

Did any of you notice on the first few drives, Rosen audibles on several plays. I was thinking by to myself, Oh, he didn't like what McCoy called and changed it.

That is just not how it works. The defense dictates your decision to change the play. McCoy's call will have audibles built in. The impressive thing is that they let a young QB use them, remember BA (I think) would not even let CP change the play at first.
