They all got hot because the team clearly spent more energy in trying to slow down Duncan and opened up outside and corner shots for wide open looks. He was right in saying just single team Duncan, he will find a way to score off the glass either way, but stop leaving others open for easy looks.

No, he blames the construction of the team, and in this game, I blame some bad perfomances by the Suns, combined with some terrible calls that changed the dynamic of the game. Blaming the construction of the team for the 2 losses in the series so far is just ludicrus.

So what? Thats how he feels.. But why signal him out?

I personally dont agree with him, but thats how he feels and he talks about the Suns as an organization whereas you attack him..

What we should do to San Antonio is what they did to us couple of years ago. Let their star player go off for 30+ points, while limiting everyone else.

it isnt at all. look at their style, it relys on shots falling, on runs, on rebounding the ball well, and on having athletic ability. those things (with the exception of athletic ability and maybe rebounding) will come and go with the tide so to speak. some nights they will be on and other nights not so much. the spurs rely on themselves, defense, rebounding, slowing down the pace, continuing to chip away at leads or add to them, not giving up open baskets, and making the right decisions. those things can be done night in and night out. the suns system is what lost them the 2 games so far, and it is what won them the one they have won. therefore, their system and structutre is a perfectly valid thing to blame for their lack of post season success.

Agreed. Let the players who will get theirs either way, but do not allow to open guys because they are double teaming star players.

I would agree with this, if I felt that we could actually slow everyone else... Can we outrebound them? Can we stop them on their offensive boards and stop the 2nd chance opportunities?? Can we develop a half-court game so that we don't have rely on trying to tire out the other team, or rely on hitting better than 45% of our 3-pointers?? I just don't think so...

Answer to those questions is YES, we (or should I say- the Suns) CAN do those things. However, it doesn't seem like they WANT to do those things. It's not rocket science- when Spurs shoot a basketball, put your damn body on someone- don't just stand there and hope for the ball to fall into your hands.

Game 2 rebounds: Suns 39, Spurs 40
Regular season game 2: Suns 51, Spurs 41

So, yes, we can match with them if we played to our potential which we did not today.

The biggest issue I have with this team is D'Antoni himself. I think he sets the team up well to run the ball, and score, and find open looks, but I think he is terrible at setting up plays strictly for the halfcourt as he sets the team up to try and score much to quickly, and usually they end up turning it over or missing a bad shot. This may not happen more than 5 or 6 times in each game, but those add up to transition points and ultimately ledas to most of their losses.

Not to get too granular... but, in Game 2, the Spurs had 12 Offensive boards to our 6... In Game 1 it was 14 to 8, and 49 total to our 35...
Tonight we held the Spurs to 11 offensive boards! 'Course, we only had 5...

Now you're just nit-picking. San Antonio is a better rebounding team- nobody can argue that. However, nobody can argue that Phoenix can not match them or at least close the gap.

I think this series is just beginning and is far from over.

Number 1--I think Stat will learn that it is best to keep focused--knock off the stupid statements to the media and just stay focused on the game plan;

2--Nash will not have another night like the one he had on game three. He is not built that way--he will be on fire Monday night.

3. --Amare will be on the court longer on Monday than he was on Saturday. That definitely hurt his team.

Sorry but I'm just not ready to count this team out yet. Amare played only 19 or so minutes, and had a point for every minute he played just about. Nash had a terrible 3 and a half quarters - not his normal game. Now, had Amare and Nash had typical Amare and Nash performances and the result was still a loss, then I would say it's over - but it's not.

The Suns have caused waaay too much pain...

over the years for me to give up on them now. We should have won anywhere from 1 to 3 championships in the 90s alone, not to mention the annual disappointments recently at the hands of the Spurs or Mavericks.

I'm numb to these losses at this point. I've done the exasperated give-up move like the guy who started this thread years and years ago. It doesn't change a thing.

The fact is, the Suns have a great chance to win the next game, and it's just as likely they will pull off the series as they won't. Whatever. Maybe this is finally our year of destiny. Who knows?

At the end of the day, the Suns are who they are, and it's not going to make me love them any less. They are my team and this is just one of the many many years I will spend way too emotionally invested on how they do. It's my lot in life, and life will go on whether they win this series or not.

But let's see if we can make something special happen. We will win a championship at some point. It still could be this year...

Truer words were never written.

Even with everything going against the Suns, this game was much closer than the score would indicate.

To factor in that Amare was on the court for such a short period of time--that alone should make Suns fans feeling really good.

No one enjoys being down a game in the playoffs. But I think this series goes down the wire--to seven games, with one of these teams pulling it out in the last 3 minutes in game 7.

I Hate People Like You All So Much!! It Was One Damn Game!! One! We Just Need To Win One Game On Their Court And Its Two Two Coming Home To Us Airways. I Hate People That Scream End Of The World So Quickly, True Suns Fans Have Faith.
And I hate it when people type in initial caps. But no one here cares about that or your opinion.

Here you go again talking like you have any clue about who is built to win. You know NOTHING about how to build a team, and I mean nothing, and you're pretty much a disgrace to have on our side as a fan, go find yourself a Spurs board and join thei bandwagon, they'll welcome you with open arms you fool.

I never said I know how to build this team, it's the tool 82CardsGrad who is sitting their saying he knows how to build this team. I said I;m sitting here as a fan just like every single other person on this board, and the Suns have gotten this far 3 straight years and continue to be one of the best, obviously they know what they are doing and doing it right. Just so happens that there are other good teams in the league as well.

82, Get your lazy ass up then, give the Suns a call this offseason, and tell them what they need to do. Obviously you know everything about how to construct a championship team, and they are missing that piece of information. Otherwise, shut the hell up already.
Spider, this board has a VERY STRICT policy of NOT attacking other posters. You're new here, and newbies have even less leeway than established posters. If it were up to me I'd have banned your butt already for your repeated personal attacks on 82, but luckily for you, I'm not a mod. I would recommend however, keeping your posts on subject rather than on person if you'd like to stay around here, because I can guarantee your current path will get you banned. I've seen it done for less.

82 put in his share of attacks as well. All of it was within the two hour grace period and no one will be banned.

It was just a strongly worded friendly warning :D

Not wanting to argue, but to his defense, I didn't see 82 say anything that was attacking anyone personally, but I have only read that thread...
