From Boston's side, it would be BY FAR the worst move Ainge has made and thats saying a lot.....

Who would you have? KG, Pierce + who?? West?, Gomes? are you kidding me?

I honestly think KG would opt out after a 39-43 year in the eats and another 1st round out, and then what do the celtics have? Nothing...

And if he stays, the Celtics would have a 3-4 year window to make a run, and after that, they would offcially go back into full rebuilding mode, except this time they would start from nothing, spend 5-7 years in complete rebuild mode, before maybe haveing a shot at getting competitive again...

I am with evryone else when I say that they are MUCH better with a lineup on

SG: Wally/Gomes
SF: Pierce/Green
PF: Marion/Perkins
C: Jefferson/Perkins

They are younger, deeper, and still have their core intact...They can play a run and gun style, and that team has a shot at the finals next year, plus not as extensive rebuilding as they would have...

I just don't understand why Ainge would mortgage the future for KG when we can certainly get better in other ways....

Minnesota can't do this, including their lottery picks they would be a luxury tax payer in 2008-2009 without much hope of unloading the awful contracts they have for immediate cap relief.

Minnesota can't afford to pay luxury tax. Their operating income in 2006 was 4M$, that's in the lower half of the league, compared to Phoenix (35M$ 2nd highest and Chicago 48M$ (their payroll was like 15 or 20M$ lower in 2006)

If Minnesota goes over the luxury tax, they will lose a LOT of money. With all the talk about Phoenix not wanting to pay tax, look at this we could be more than 10M$ over the tax treshold and we would still make more money than Minnesota. Minnesota would be a terrible, terrible rebuilding team with decreasing fan support after trading KG most likely, they could absolutely not afford to pay luxury tax imo.

based on what? just because a couple of morans (and yes its spelled wrong) get into the front office, doesnt mean anything.

By my calculations (its hoopshype, so i don't claim to be accurate) it they are trading 46 million over the next two years for 41 million in guanteed saleries plus we'll say 4 million for each of the two picks in the top 10....making it only 4 million more over the two years for minnosota...

Meaning next year with the proposed deal above, they are taking back only 18 million after trading KG's 22 million... add in the #5 pick, and its 20 million for next year, 24 million for next year....

They are still paying Taxes, but they will be in A LOT better position as a franchise with a young core.. their rotation could possibly be

PG: Foye/Jaric/Telfair
SG: Wally/McCants
SF: Brewer/Green
PF: Yi/Howard
C: Jefferson/Blount

That is a good young team with potential and talent...summer of 09 they would have about 30 million in Cap roomto extend their young guys and probably sign a star to a max contract....

Wally and Foye being Crowd favorites, and the potential of Green, Jefferson, Brewer, Yi, the T'Wolves would have a VERY exciting future...

I hope the deal doesn't happend this way because if it does, the Wolves, Blazers and possibly Sonics would be SCARY teams for the next 10-15 years to contend with.....

According to crazy Laker fans, a couple of their crazy radio people are breaking the news that KG will not 'accept' a trade to Boston...whatever that means.

Lakers fans have been after KG since Shaq left, of course--they always imagine he'll be happy to knuckle under and carry the bags for their spoiled dauphin. Even so, this would be good news for the Suns if there's any truth to it.
