If you have seen Rome this will make you vomit. Not only is the acting utterly cheesy the scenery is all fake and is very obvious.

It wasn't horrible, and it's worth watching whenever it comes onto a site like Megavideo or something. It definitely isn't worth getting Starz for, and it is so inferior to Rome as to be laughable. The acting, as swd said, is sub-par, and the 300-style fighting will probably get old fast.

Yea the scenery could get old fast. It worked for 300 but will have to see for aTV show over a length of time. The acting is a tad cheesy. But enough guts and nudity to keep me interested for a bit. :)

People should have expected a little cheese from this project, and over the type fighting styles and scenery. We are talking about a show from some of the people that helped to bring you shows like Xena, Hercules, Buffy, Angel, Smallville, Evil Dead.

The specifically didn't make it anything like Rome because they didn't want to make a copy cat, which would have been far worse.

I like the over the top goodness so far.

i think i am somewhere in between shane and ouchie...on one hand blood i think we either see a boob or blood flying in slow motion at least once every 7 minutes...however, almost every other sentence is a cliche...

bottom line, i wouldn't pay for starz to watch this show, i do get it for free on netflix online so i will probably watch it again...

Tried watching this and turned it off after his fight by the campfire...just too many cliches and bad dialogue to keep me into it.

I so desperately want this to be better, and it is so badly disappointing me so far. Spartacus is little more than a brave idiot. And I do mean idiot, in every sense of the word. They try to pass his stupidity off as drive and determination, but it doesn't work.

I'll give it a few more episodes, because I'm watching it for free, but it's getting dangerously close to being a waste of time.

I had little hope for this show after the first episode. I'm glad I decided to give it another shot. It's just getting better and more entertaining.

Let's face it, this show is pretty bad--it's trying really hard to be Rome, but it's failing pretty badly.

But, the entertainment value is pretty high. Not only with the bloody fights, but the bad acting is somewhat entertaining as well. John Hannah has always played nice guy parts, but seeing him as a cursing Roman douchebag is entertaining in of itself.

The last episode had one of the most unneccesarily bloodiest scenes I have ever witnessed on a television show

The chick that got her head cracked open on the marble floor was pretty wicked! Her eyeball was hanging out and everything... Very cool!!! And yes the brunette with freckles was a hottie!!!

They were preparing for season 2 shooting when it was found that the dude who plays sparticus has cancer. He is going through chemo atm....My wife is distraught. She is in love with him...

Never judge a book by its cover. :D It got better. Nudity and violence abounds. Not for the meek and faint hearted.
