Michigan State basketball opened their Big Ten Tournament with a double bye, and a spot in the quarterfinal against the Oregon Ducks. It was the tale of two winning streaks going against one another, with Oregon putting their 8-game winning streak against the Spartans 7-game winning streak.
On Friday in Indianapolis, it was the Spartans that would put themselves into the Big Ten Tournament semifinals, defeating the Ducks, 74-64. The game between the Spartans and Ducks was highly competitive, with both teams showing why they are considered top seeds for the upcoming NCAA Tournament.
The Spartans had four players in double figures, with Jase Richardson (15 points) leading the way. Jaden Akins add 12 points, while Jeremy Fears Jr. had 11 points and Coen Carr had 10 points.
Michigan State will be back in action tomorrow in the Big Ten Tournament semifinal when they will play the winner of the Wisconsin and UCLA quarterfinal matchup. The game will be at 1 p.m. on CBS.
