Michigan State football has extended an offer to an edge rusher from the Lone Star State.

Obinna Umeh of Houton, Texas announced on Thursday that he has received an offer from Michigan State. Umeh revealed the recruiting news via a post on his social media X account.

Umeh is an unranked edge rusher in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports. His brother -- Chidera Umeh -- is a defensive lineman for Lamar University.

Michigan State is one of nearly 20 schools to extend an offer to Umeh, according to 247Sports. He also holds offers from Stanford, Pitt, Army, Colorado State, Louisiana Tech, Oklahoma State, Rice, Sacramento State, San Diego State, Tulsa, UNLV, UTEP, Harvard, Cornell, Dartmouth, Princeton and Yale.

According to 247Sports, Stanford and Pitt are currently the leaders in his recruitment. Michigan State will look to break into that mix with this offer.
