Yeah, I have to admit it. I got used to the sweet taste of winning. Especially after so many painful, disappointing years. So, the problem now is my view of this year (maybe yours, too) gets a little jaded. It's a new year. We are entitled to nothing! The past two years are a pleasant memory. But, with the uncertainty of what we 've seen so far (and yes, I know it's only pre-season) there's alot of worry, tongue-lashing, teeth-gnashing, etc. Understandable! We don't want what we've come to enjoy so much to be lost. Even for one season.
This may very well be a rebuilding year. I'm beginning to accept that. We've lost "leaders" in Kurt, Q, Karlos, and Antrelle. Not only will we miss their contributions on the field but off it as well. (ie; locker-room) New leaders must arise! It's the natural result of change. I feel confident that our coaching staff knows this, and is in the process of sorting out who can and who can't do it. ...And it takes time.
So, here's to a great Cardinal season! One that is filled with surprises as we watch it unfold. The road may get a lil' bumpy, but the course is set. The goal is certain. I believe in my life-time (53 now) I will see the Cards crowned a champion. If not this year, sometime very soon. So, have a lil' Faith, my friends. Much easier on your heart. GO CARDS!
