http://www.arizonasports.com/40/1513654/Report-Cards-willing-to-walk-away-from-Kolb

The article sounds like the Cards will consider whether they want Kolb back, regardless of how the Manning situation turns out. If Peyton is here, the decision is easy.

But even if Manning goes to Denver, it sounds like the Cards aren't sold on Kolb. If they do keep him, 2012 is a boom or bust year (duh). At the very least, he will be on a short leash and we know how that has historically worked out for Cards QB's.

And while the Cards would undoubtedly talk about how much faith they have in both Kevin Kolb and John Skelton going forward, reports are circulating that the team is ready to part with last year's big investment after just one season.

Kent Somers was just on PFT with Mike Florio and Florio asked him that very question. Paraphrasing, but Kent said it was highly unlikely and went into the reality that only Skelton is behind Kolb. Also said the Cardinals ARE very concerned about Kolb's health. Kolb told Kent it took a full month after the end of the season for him to feel right again after the concussion. [That is a very, very long recovery time.]

He said he thinks KK is very competitive and that, if anything, this situation with Manning will make him even more determined to succeed.

I do feel Kolb has talent. But when things went bad for him it was real bad. Nothing to talk about, were getting Manning.

If we end up with Skelton freaking ugh....

knowing we went from Manning to Skelton is one hell of a fall.

As a season ticket holder...I can't expect many opening their pockets again...

If Manning comes UOP will be SOLD OUT every game for years to come

If Skelton is our QB I expect 25% of current STH to cut the cord.

It's one thing to love going to NFL games it's another knowing you are going to losing games....and the games after you are out of the playoff chase...I can barely drag my rear outta bed for em'. They are fun once you are there...but pointless.

We went from kolb to skelton, manning has never been on roster.

I would rather Skelton to kolb.

When the hell did we know we had Manning? So it is the organization's fault that you unnecessarily got your hopes up?!

Oh, and another thing, I took a few months break from this board, and starting looking again yesterday and this is already the second post I've seen from you complaining about being a season ticket holder. Well, I've been on the wait list for a few weeks trying to double my season tickets from 2 to 4 this upcoming season. I signed up for the extra season tickets before the Peyton talk heated up (and certainly not because of it) and will happily take the 2 extra seats if offered regardless of who our QB is this upcoming season. I'd be happy to just take your season tickets off your hands and not wait around on the wait list since your season tickets appear to be such an incredible inconvenience for you!!!!

If the Cards have questions about Kolb they should cut him. Sign an OT and draft another one.
Keep Marshall and go get another FA QB perhaps a Jason Campbell type.

Campbell and Skelton is no worse than Kolb and Skelton.

All this assuming Manning dosen't come here.

While I understand the "apprehension" of the thought of Double Deuce as the Cardinals QB in 2012, the one thing that is not fair to say is that the team will not win with Skelton at QB.

I beg to differ. That is the one stat that is in Skelton's corner, wins.

There would be more if Early Doucet could put his left foot in front of his right foot.

Skelton has improved every year and I expect even more so after a real offseason.

This is exactly why I posted my "I'm worried" thread. Manning has never been here. People are already getting their panties in a bunch just thinking how he may not sign here. Imagine what will happen if he doesn't.

Bartell is a better than average #3.

And "before there was an available Manning", it was going to be Kolb and Skelton anyway.

So at worst, we can settle back into a pre-Manning/"rebuild th OT and add a WR and pass rusher" mode

Kolb has talent, he can throw pretty passes and has touch on the ball. That is if he throws the ball instead of running around and holding the ball instead of making that tough pass. He lacks guts and poise in the pocket which will eventually hurt his career.

Skelton has guts and makes those tough throws. Watch the last SF game. However he starts really slow, like 3 qtrs to warm up. Also for every good pass he makes 1 dumb throw or mistake. Reminds me of jake the snake.

But in both cases, that's where we'd start entering OTA's.

With the rather sizable "If" of Kolb's concussion, there's plenty of room and opportunity for both QB's to grow out of their difficulties.

With Manning, you lose those question marks and gain confidence that the passing attack will absolutely click.

But if we don't land him, all is not lost - there's just a lot more uncertainty.

If it is a health issue, cut Kolb. If Manning isn't signed, Campbell, Orton or Henne competing with Skelton is almost the same as Kolb competing with Skelton.

.... and we'll thank the "D" for holding the fort while he did nothing in the first half, and stuffing the opposition when he turned over the ball in the second.

Kolb lacks "guts"! Ridiculous. I saw him take some hellish hits last season and he took it like a man.
