Rivers, Romo, Young, Kitna, and Cutler are not better than Donovan McNabb.

BUT I think I am reading this list wrong...or something.

Actually who cares.

I hadn't actually compared the stats for Leinart and Young before. Matt's were better in all but two categories: rushing and, of course, wins. Based on what you hear about Young, I assumed his stats would be much better than they were.

Still, wins are the only stat that matter.

Also, if Cutler finishes the season season ranked 8 places above Leinart I'm going to be really disappointed!

VY's 3rd down conversion percentage and comeback wins is also mighty impressive.

Granted, Matt should have had a couple if Rackers had been on last season, and VY did have that 60+ yarder FG for the win, but them's the breaks.

Apparently really impressed the sports writer who kept picking Jake Plummer to be the AFC Offensive Player of the Year. I like reading Peter King but I wouldn't take what he says to heart. Good knowledge, bad opinions.

Or he just likes to stir the pot.

Well -- I am guessing that the ranking standard is Qb for next year and next year only --

otherwise -- of the 17 QBs ranked higher than Leinart -- there are maybe only 6 or 7 of them I would happily trade Matt straight up for --

conversely -- wouldnt you think the Lions would do backflips to trade John Kitna straight up for Leinart. How bout the Panthers and Delhomme? Ravens and McNair?

The rankings are in the order of who will have the best season. It's only dealing with this coming season or Matt would be higher. I'd say that it is about right. I mean we have a new coach, a new system and an offensive line worse than any of the above.

On Young: He's a little high but he rushed for seven touchdowns and they had a nice winning streak. If Givens is healthy and another WR steps up he might just be able to fulfill the hype.

Not to hijack this thread, but hasn't the Jake thing kinda gotten old around here by now?

Don't get me wrong, I've got two Plummer jerseys in the back of my closet that I'll never wear again. I was done with him when he left here, and could care less about his career, post Cardinals.

He did lead this team to it's only post season win in 60 years, but the way some people still talk about him, you'd think he shot up VT.

Isn't it past time to let it go???

Fumbled a snap and banged Jessica Simpson.

Jessica Simpson >>>> Paris Hilton (Leinart)

If we are using that as a gauge.........

just sayin.

Vince Young the most feared young player in the league.

Five years from now people will be talking about Matt the same way they do Tom Brady today. :koolaid:

It really wasn't a "Jake thing".

It was a "look how wrong Peter King can be thing". It's the easiest of his many bad predictions to remember.

I thought his rankings were well thought-out. Don't agree with some, but do on many.

Brett Favre at #14 was way too high. McNabb was ranked too high also.

Agree with him on Bulger, Young and Rivers. Not sure about Cutler.

Good stuff. Well worth discussing.
