Bruce Cooper on Sports Tonight (local channel 12) said he's heard that some people in the organization are questioning Amare Stoudemire's work ethic. Okay, I can understand questioning his toughness or his pain threshold. I can understand questioning whether he's just overly scared about his knees. How in the world can they question his work ethic though?

I hope I'm correct in assuming this is just Bruce Cooper wording it wrong. I'm not sure he's the sharpest tool in the shed, so it's certainly possible.

I often wonder how that guy keeps his job. I know I could do that gig better than he does.

It is obvious that Amare's psyche is damaged somewhat. He doesn't trust his trainers or dr's it seems. Of course, every athlete in the league has been giving him free--often conflicting--advice.

I'm pretty sure on the same show I heard him say that "the Chicago Bears have given up 36 points in 5 games, which is less then a touchdown a game."

At any rate, I'm pretty sure the question is about his tolerance for pain rather then his work ethic.

Seems like a trend on this board that when someone reads something negative that they dont like its attack the reporter time. However if some Suns player gets hyped up its all good.

Wat up wit dat?!

What's up with you contributing nothing to the thread? Did you see the sportscast that we are talking about?

None of you even know Amare so how would you know his work ethic?? The only thing you know is what reporters tell you about it.

Agreed. He is truly horrible with his high pitched goofy voice. I remember when the guy first started, I thought he wouldn't last the week.

For starters they see Amare everyday. His team mates see him every day. If they think he is just not giving 100% in practice then I would say they are perfectly capable of questioning his work ethic.

I call BS

One thing we've always known about Amare is that he doesnt take anything for granted, and he kills himself to get better each day.

Look how much work hes put in to even get to this point in his rehab and working himself back into shape.

This is starting to go down the same road that Penny had to travel with the media in AZ and even the suns Organization, and Amare doesnt deserve it.

I can't wait until Amare proves all the doubters wrong like hes been doing his whole damn life, and makes it back onto the court and dominates once again.

I bet everyone jumps back on his bandwagon then. Pathetic

All i know is that when Penny was healthy and leading us past the Spurs everyone was loving him, but when he hurt himself playing injured and started missing games, thats when everyone started questioning him and the media started their BS stories about him and twisting everything he said into something negative.

Its all about what have you done for me lately with the media.(Starting to feel the same way about the Suns Organization too)

You don't throw a guy to the wolves just cause he was hurt for a significant amount of time.Especially when that guy was and still is going to be our biggest contributer at potentially winning a title in the near future.

Oh bring up the Spurs...Like uhh...how many years did we have Penny...5+ years or something? Yeah that Spurs series was worth 80 million dollars to the Suns I bet. Penny did virtually nothing the entire time..we supposed to apologize to the guy and be grateful he was here?? Jeeeeeeeesh....

Here you go...:koolaid:

Nasty it's poinless arguing with these guys, they have made up their mind on Amare.

I keep saying we can't get to up or down on him, he's structurally fine but he is still going to have ups and downs, and some are going to want to trade him everytime has a bad day because they are convinced he is done, just ignore these jokers, we'll be laughing in June.

This coming from the person who has actually met Jason Williams and knows how well he will play right?

In American pro sports, the fans treat athletes like gladiators. If they don't entertain you, they can die for all the fans care. I hate that. People don't treat their players as real persons. Sometimes I read the bboard and wish the players don't see some of the hurtful comments. As long as Amare is a Sun he is family, and I respect all the true fans who support and encourage him during his struggles.

Well, yes, you want your team to win. But if winning is everything, why are we so proud of the Suns for their character and friendship? I think it would be a true test for Amare's teammates how they react to Amare's doubtful condition at this time. I hope they don't let me down.

Horrible voice and painful to watch...he reminds me of that Chris Farley skit on SNL where Farley is the host on a talk show...doesn't know what questions to ask, so he asks really dumb ones.

Is it any wonder that he's one of the most intimidating players in the NBA. Maybe if he took his shirt off before the game... :notworthy
