That's the MO for every team in a series against the Suns. Get physical with them. Doesn't work now.

I liked all the hard fouls the Suns delivered in game 3. One bway to stop Tony Parker from going to the rim over and over is to put him on his butt.

I've noticed during the last month or two of the season a TON of laker games were close and down to the wire where they needed kobe to take the last shot(s). They never blew anyone out in that last month/two months

I'm not going to go back and research it but I thought they had a large number of close games all season. Except, of course, when they played us and that's what has me worried assuming both of us advance.

We can beat the Lakers squad that has shown up for most of the games the past 2 months. We cannot beat the Lakers team that showed up for our first few games. I'm hoping that they truly are a weaker team today and that we're a much better team than earlier but I have serious doubts.

I love the fact they gotta bring up Horry and Bowen, and if they were still playing and in this series, they would become "unzipped". Keep living in the past Spurs fans!

You have serious doubts that the Suns are better now than earlier in the season? Really?

Well, I thought there was at least an implied connection to the previous sentence but perhaps not. I have serious doubts as to whether we can beat the Lakers. I BELIEVE we can beat the version we've seen of late but I can't forget how bad they made us look earlier in the season. I know that we were at a huge scheduling disadvantage but let's face it, the Lakers have absolutely owned us ever since D'antoni shot his mouth off about them.

the lakers have owned us ever since they acquired Pau. We owned them before that, but the Pau trade changed everything.

If the Suns win the series, I like our chances against the Fakers. It will be a tougher series than this but still, they play less defense than the Spurs or Blazers.

Not even remotely true. This Lakers team is a very good defensive unit, and through 9 games they rank high in several defensive stats.

#1 in Opp FG% 40%
#4 in Opp 3FG% 32.9% (and that's including last nights Korver fest, they dropped 2 spots)
#1 in rebounding 44.4
#1 in blocks 7.0

Their offense, however, is out of sync and they aren't scoring well. Phoenix has several matchups they can exploit against the Lakers, and the Lakers have several to exploit against the Suns. It will be interesting to see which team is able to take advantage, because the matchup issues are blatant on both sides.

I expect a tough, hard fought series, and if the Lakers continue to bring the "just do enough to win" mentality they've rolled with in the playoffs so far, the Suns will win.

Actually, the facts don't really support your statement. I agree they are a better team since acquiring Gasol but the small sampling available shows no difference in the outcomes against the Suns. Over the past 3 seasons the Lakers are 9 and 3 against us. Over that same time frame they are 3 and 1 against us without Pau. I think one can safely infer that it doesn't matter whether Gasol plays or not. Of course, I don't think you'd be correct to infer that, just safe.

What does this have to do with spurs fans' thoughts on Goran Dragic? Thread hijack.

Picky, picky, picky. Okay I really mean everything I said before but would like to add that I love the fact the Spurs are hitting themselves over the head about Dragic.

Raw rebound totals are a pretty meaningless statistic. The Lakers are 3rd in playoff rebounding differential at +2.2, behind Orlando (+4.9) and Phoenix (+3.7).

True, which still reinforces the point.

Orlando is killing the defensive numbers - and killing their opponents as well.

I think Orlando poses the best shot to beat you guys. They won't get killed on the boards, Bynum has trouble with Howard and with a healthy Jameer, Finals experience AND HCA, they've got the weapons to give y'all a serious run... that is unless we pull of the huge upset... which I'd be okay with too.

Spurs fans are the most classless in the entire NBA. I couldn't help but laugh at those losers as they get swept away like dust on my kitchen floor.
