They'll definitely miss Parker, we should be able to stay within 30 now.

Steve

Agree.

I'm expecting a Suns performance like their last game with the Celtics where Garnett rested and Pierce only felt the need to score 8 points. The Suns were shown mercy and only lost by 25 points. I wouldn't be surprised if Popovich gave does not rest some of his other players as well or give them limited minutes.

Ah I remember those times when playing the Spurs would be such an important game...

Two quick fouls on Scola in the first quarter. Luckily the Suns have the Morris twins. ;)

I wonder if Beasley will see the court much today? It sounds like he's on thin ice with Hunter.

Beasley is playing poorly but he is blaming his bad miss on a 3 point shot the other night to a lingering injury.

To answer you question, Beasley does not deserve playing time so hopefully he will not get much tonight.

Okay, Beasley now enters the game at about the 10 minute mark of the 2nd quarter and promply fouls on a 3 point shot.

Man I hate referees. We've been called for a couple of travels but SA just walks with abandon. That move by Jackson in the key for example was a much more pronounced version of the shuffle that was called on O'Neal.

I read that and I know a bogus excuse when I hear one. That was his justification for walking off the court without telling anyone. Pure BS. Hunter would have forgiven a lot from him as long as he was giving full effort and cooperating with the coaches but the prima donna act falls flat especially when you don't have the talent to back it up.

Spurs up 14-0 in the second quarter doing nothing special against the Suns invisible defense.

Beasley is playing even more terrible tonight. Those lingering injuries will get you. ;)

Is Hunter coaching the Suns or do they just look like a pickup team? Seriously I like to see them play like a professional team with some discipline.

Morris takes a nasty fall. Boy those Spurs are dirty, Scola took Marcus' legs out while he was charging through the lane...

No wait...

Scola keeps trying to fill the lane even though another Sun has beaten him to the spot.

You keep going there but I really don't know what you're hoping to see that you aren't seeing? I think it's obvious the last coach wasn't fired so we'd improve, he was fired so they could get someone in there that would work to develop the young guys. Gentry, who had the luxury of playing his better players more and who had the benefit of putting in his system before the season started couldn't get this group of guys to resemble a basketball team.

Game after game this team would play well for awhile and then get blown off the court. We're doing the same thing now with a rotation that is more inexperienced and less talented. The veterans on this team no longer believe they can win especially if Marshall, Johnson and Beasley see the court. There's not much you can do to change that mindset short of an influx of talent. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Hunter is the worst coach to ever walk the sidelines but I seriously doubt that the greatest coach ever would have performed much better with these guys. Compared to the Spurs, our current squad isn't much better than a pickup team.

Steve

I expect the Suns to be competitive... not win but just be competitive in most games. Many of the Spurs players off the bench are role players but they play like a team. Patty Mills had 12 points in the first half.

I like Patty Mills, I'd trade most of our team for him. Not that he's a star or anything but still, I'd much rather watch him than Marshall or Markieff or Johnson or Beasley or Brown or Garrett. Look at our roster and tell me how many of these guys would make the Spurs team? Not many that's for sure.

I liked Patty Mills when he did not have much value. The point I'm trying to make, the Suns are not well coached on offense or defense. Yes, the Suns do not have much talent but they are severely under coached as evidenced by how sloppy they play. Hunter has not improved the Suns play in any area that I have seen... especially on defense.

I agree, I just had no expectations that he would. It's easy to look well coached when you are a good team but it's hard to do what your coach tells you to do when you are so badly outmanned. That wasn't always the case but in the shot clock era, you can't just pass the ball around on the perimeter and wait for the other team to give you an opening. We can't shoot and we're slower and less athletic that our opponents. No amount of coaching can turn that into anything other than a bad team, IMO.

Who let the dogs out,,,,,,

Well,,,,,,,,,,,,,we all can agree,,the Suns are a bad team. New coach is terrible at best.

I can hardly stand to watch their games......mainly to see the other ball team play. That's a sad thought,,,having never before said that in my 38 years of Suns watching :( :bang:
