It's a smart move. He's not going to cost much, and if we don't come out of the draft with a kid QB to groom, we have a 3rd QB. If we do draft a kid, he'll have someone to compete against.
They like to have 4 QB's for training camp. Either St. Pierre or whomever else the Cards aquire, come out of camp as the #3 QB and the other is cut or in the case of a rookie perhaps PS.

It would be nice to have a #3 that had at least some potential for the future. However, St. Pierre has higher value during the season as the scout team QB than a rookie would have. So it's a toss-up.

His back problems alone really make me nervous. Once the back starts giving you trouble... Abandon hope all ye who enter here.

BSP, is like another QB Coach. He knows the system and, at the very least, will bring Anderson and a late draft (UDFA) QB up to speed. He'll also run the scout team. No biggie... in terms of cost... in an uncapped year. In Whiz I trust!

PS: and having signed a Godless heathen like Porter, we certainly need at least one Saint.

Oh how I long for the days when Kent Graham and Dave Brown were competing as backup QB's.

Looks like Pierre isnt all that important.

Cardinals told him not to make his flight out here. They are putting his phsycial and contract on hold. Probably because they want to wait to re-assess their needs after the draft then see if they still want to sign him. Same scenerio as Simmons and Mike Brown are in probably.

He has had plenty of opportunities to prove himself I personally believe we would be better suited to use that third quarterback spot on a roll of the dice type rookie and see if where fortunate enough to strike gold. With Anderson and Leinart IMO that would be a better way to go.

I think that is exactly what they plan to do. There most likely is someone they have targeted (maybe more than one) in the draft. If they get him then they will have the 3 qbs to go with for the season.
