There was a bit of scare at the Tennesse girls state basketball tournament on Saturday. A tornado warning forced games to be delayed.
The Class 1A and 2A championship games had already been completed, with Greenfield topping Van Buren in 1A and Westview topping York Institute in 2A, when the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for the area.
Fans were cleared out of the stands and moved inside the arena.
Start times for the 3A and 4A title games were pushed back to later in the day. The Tennessean’s George Robinson reported that fans have been allowed back in the stands and the tournament will resume soon.
