I think this makes sense. Probably not enough material to produce 10 episodes without massive amounts of filler. This way, they can focus on the key plotline and keep the audience engaged the entire 2 hours or so.

As long as the writing is as good doesn't matter to me if it's a series or movie. Looking forward to it.

tried to watch this last night. Got about 30 minutes in and shut it off.
Its bad. Not star trek, not good. Its almost like a spaceballs parody of trek.
it opens like a 10 dollar scifi movie and just refuses to get any better

The reviews for this have been terrible. I’ll be skipping it, despite my love for Trek.
