I missed the first two (saw the very end of the second, but it's fine, the first one sucked), but HBO is showing all six films in a row right now.

Revenge of the Sith is about to start.

Lucas really trashed the original 3 with the added graphics and changed scenes.

I mean...Han is trying to save Lando at the Pit of Carcoon...and when he's aiming the guy:

Lando - "Wait, I thought you were BLIND!"
Han - "It's alright, trust me."

New one:

Hans - "It's okay, I can see better now."

Ugh, lame...

I watched it. It's a shame they've done it a few times, but cox here doesn't have hd cinnemax so only now/well then lol, is the marathon in hd for us here in phx.

They have a set out which gives you both the new version and the theatrical version on dvd.

Of course this came out after they released them on dvd a couple of years ago.

I won't be reinvesting until they come out in HD, which of course still isn't their full glory which will be 4k (the quality of film versus 1.08k (1080) which is what hd is) which will probably come out in 10-15 years (4k version, hey we need 4k tv's first lol). (And movie producers are looking at 16k to become the standard for movies...yes 16x the highest def available on tv's right now and 4x that what is currently shown in theaters)

So just 2 more sets to buy lol, but I do hope when he releases them in hd, and eventually ultra hd that they contain the original version and the new ones.

FWIW you can buy a 4k digital movie camera for around $20k right now, and probably a good idea to get someone like that for your wedding pictures/movies that has one.

I don't mind the new ones as long as you have access to the old ones. There are some good parts to the new stuff. I personally like the han/jabba scene where he steps on jabba's tail, and cloud city looks better with see through walls rather than just white walls and faker backgrounds. There's a couple of other spots too, but ofc some spots maybe weren't too good of an idea like the han/greedo thing.

Doesn't that just piss you off? Almost as bad as the whole Solo/Greedo scene.

Word!

I look at the Lucas megalomaniacal-fueled changes like a wort...you find it disgusting and gross at first...but you learn to live with it...eventually getting used to it...

LOL! Yeah, it's frustrating, but what are ya gonna do?

Wait till Lucas dies, and hope that he leaves me the rights to the Star Wars franchise, so that not only will I be able to dump the "enhancements" forever, but make the next 3 movies as kick ass as they can be? :D
