I have no real issues with Lucas' changes...it's his IP, and he can do whatever he wishes to it to fit his vision. Even if I had a beef with any of the changes beyond "wtf?" I'm powerless to do anything beyond exercising my freedom of choice.

It would be nice, and possibly more profitable, if he were to release the original theatrical versions on BluRay was well.

my question is this: The new Darth Vader: "No... NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" in Jedi isn't a special effect he had to wait 30 years for. it's a simple freaking VO he could have plopped in at ANY time in the last 30 years of constant re-releases, so why now? Call me completely crazy, but guys that successful have planet sized egos and it wouldn't surprise me if he put it in there just as a FU to pretty much everyone who laughed at that moment in Revenge Of The Sith. Almost as if he was stung by that laughter, then decided... screw 'em... I'm gonna put the same damn ******** scream into Jedi, then sat back, smiled and screamed: WHO'S LAUGHING NOW?!

Seriously... it makes no sense why he'd wait this long to do the new Vader NOOOOOO!!! in Jedi. Ruins such a perfect moment in the series IMO.

I have a tendency to not be too terribly serious with my posts...but in this case I'll make an exception:

I wish I had kept my original VHS copies of the original trilogy. I doubt Lucas ever makes them available again in a more modern format.

Whether or not it's as a "screw you" to the fan backlash from the consistent changes with each iteration of his re-releases I cannot say. But it seems reasonable to assume as much.

The original version of the trilogy will never see the light of day again until Lucas dies and even then I doubt his estate will ever release them.

Jedi needed a "Noooooo." That is the first thing I thought of when I saw Episode 3.

I have to say none of the enhancements has EVER bothered me. I have been a die hard star wars fan since the first day I watched Star Wars. I was at the Premiere of Empire Strikes Back at the Cine Capri in Phoenix. Actually the world Premier was a couple days before at the Kennedy Center but then they did a wider charity premier in select locations across the U.S. and the Cine Capri was selected. At any rate I was there.

IMO some of the enhancements have increased my enjoyment of the films. Like adding previously deleted footage or updating some of the FX. Even some of the other changes like Han not shooting first didn't phase me.

The replacement of the craptastic Yoda in PM was needed. The change of adding FX to make the Ewoks blink, erases one of things that annoyed me abut the Ewoks and I like it. However, for the first time I thought one of the changes was going to bug me.

To me, the "Nooooooo" in ROTS was corny and I was actually hoping for the Blu Ray release that Lucas would replace it or remove it. However, he did the opposite and I was worried that he took one of the worst scenes in that movie and added it to ROTJ.

My first reaction was "whyyyyyyyyyyy"?

Now that I have watched it, what he did was no big deal. It doesn't come of as corny like in ROTS. It's not this big elongated "nooooooo" like in that movie. He basically says "No". Then a slightly longer "Nooo". It's not bad like in ROTS. If you held a gun to my head and said which sceen, if I had to pick one, would I keep....... I would keep this new scene in ROTJ hands down. I hate that "Noooooo" seen in ROTS with a living passion.

the versions will only get worse from here because George will just keep tinkering from here on it.

My two cents.

The edit that bothers me the MOST is in Jedi how they added that LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS head to the sand monster (Sarlacc). Seriously, it looks fake, stupid, ridiculous, cheesy, NOT scary.

That scene and that creature were WAY scarier when you couldn't see what was down there, you just saw tentacles and teeth and knew that you didn't want to fall down there. Now its this giant beak and it looks so freaking stupid IMO.

What's scarier than a giant butthole with teeth? Seriously. lol

If you're sitting there doing your business I'm pretty sure a toilet seat with teeth would be scarier. Besides, I'm pretty sure I can outrun a giant butthole.

I asked the giant butthole on twitter and he confirmed that you can NOT outrun him.

I'll gain a few steps on him every time he stops to try and molest some young girl. By the time he finishes signing autographs for the police that come to interrogate him, I'll be long gone. I hope he dresses up as a dog for Halloween and Michael Vick adopts him.

LOL I had to look that up on IMDB to see if it was real Brian. WOW! Gonna have to netflix a classic like that. :)

you'll be disappointed. it's not NEARLY as good/bad as a movie like that should be.

Two things I'd need, as options at least, to see before I purchased the original trilogy on Blu-Ray:

1. Han shooting first.
2. Old Anakin's ghost, not Hayden Christian's at the end of Return of The Jedi.

You will never get that, ever. Never ever.
