Hot off his massive success on Jurassic World , super hot director Colin Trevorrow has bagged his next gig.

Today at the Star Wars Comic Con panel, Lucasfilm will bring out Colin Trevorrow onto the stage at Hall H to announce him as the next director of Star Wars: Episode 9!

JJ Abrams directed Episode 7, Rian Johnson got Episode 8, and now Colin Trevorrow got Episode 9. The trilogy is complete.

Hot choice. Jurassic World has grossed a $1.4 billion dollars around the world and still climbing.

'Star Wars: Episode IX' Director Wants to Shoot on Film, Not Digital — and in Outer Space

So the release date is May 24th. Disney has a live action fairy tale slatted for Dec. 20 2019. Must be pretty important to bump SW from the xmas break seeing as how they've dominated it. They could always switch it if needed though.

Where did you hear that? I don't think they chose that date because New Hope was released the same day 42 years earlier. More likely they are switching up their schedules since the Han Solo movie is being release in late May in 2018 (the 41st anniversary).

Star Wars has been poured over so heavily be nerds that theres almost nothing that could surprise them. Theyve already figured out all the possible twists. Every possible theory has already been laid out there. Now its just a matter of which nerd gets to claim "I CALLED IT!"

I hpe the reveal is not lame. Honestly, my favorite theory so far is that Snoke really is Darth Plagueis who was the Emperor's master thought to be dead. My thought is AS was allegedly created by Plagueis (because he could create life) and maybe he did so again to create Rey for the same purpose of destroying balance in the force.

Well, I've thought they were cousins or related i some way based on one of TFA's posters that had Rey in blue and Ren in Red divided by a light saber.

Pagueis has been an interesting theory and plausible, but I just think Disney wants to distance this trilogy from the prequels. They're still canon, but the ugly duckling.

OH, how about Snoke was formed out of nothing by midichlorians? Would probably kill the franchise
