Mejia is too raw to be in the big leagues but his curve has a hard bite.

Honestly. I think today's fire sale puts a spotlight on Hazen's failures as well. We should've gotten rid of Ray last year where he was worth something. Bradley as well. Lamb is still on the team because that stupid contract.

We got a locker room full of followers. But lack leadership and having Toreys nonchalant approach to things doesn't light up a fire under anyone.

I feel like this team should go all in on giving the young guys some practice reps at this point and let them be good in the next year or so.

The Goldschmidt trade was being discussed today in a not good light.

It was a Good Trade. Dbacks weren't going to be able to resign Goldy Drop off offensively at 1B has been little. Defensively Walker is getting very good.

Hard to judge Kelly and Weaver this year - both seem to take a step back, but very young.

I am just more commenting how the local media is turning quickly. You have to factor Walker in with the trade as well in my opinion

The headlines say, "The Padres are going for it this year."

I guess ours could say, "The Diamondbacks are running from it."

By all rights, the Valley of the Sun should be the more
predominant metropolitan area of the two.

'Guess not! Kendrick and his gang are small potatoes.

I know the year isn't over. But even in a year where half the teams are basically making the playoffs, it's looking like they can't even make it now.

What sucks is that everyone will basically use the pandemic as an excuse for this team's shortcomings, but I think it only magnified the true problems of the team.

Stringing hits together has been an issue since last year, bullpen is inconsistent. We just got rid of our closer, which hopefully someone who isn't so consumed by the outside nice steps in, our starting rotation is trending the wrong direction. Team lacks leadership and identity

And Torey Lovullo is not the manager to lead a rebuild.

Just as when Mike D'Antoni famously announced, as Head Coach
of the Suns, "It's not my job to develop young players."

Some people are just not cut out for it.

If Jon Jay continues to get playing time, especially following the
fire sale, that will be obvious about Lovullo. They need to replace
him now, more than ever.

Young players need to see enthusiasm and continuity, among other
things. Torey, of course, is severely lacking in those skills.

Torey will at least start 2021 and likely get the entire season. His 3 seasons prior to this year plus the Covid mess this year gives him more time. I don't believe that is the right move but I fully expect it.
