This coaching staff is getting dollars worth the effort and results from 50 cents worth the talent.

Make no mistake, this coaching staff is going to get better too. You can’t win the Kentucky Derby with a glue factory nag. But this nag is hanging in the race for 1/2 to 3/4 of the race.

Kyler should elevate this offense, however we have to have the slowest running back stable in the league which hurts. We need a home run hitting rb.

The defense needs 1 or 2 cornerbacks and a dominant lineman or two. Add a safety if Budda leaves.

So my assessment is above expectations.

Goal line stands, hard running with gaps being opened, tied for 8th place in the NFL sack count.

These are all signs of a coaching staff that is scheming well and getting 110% effort from their players. Unfortunately effort only gets you so far with a lack of skilled/experienced players.

We will see how Murray shakes things up, but Murray aside, I have hope for the future of this staff and team.

Yup. The new regime clearly has their own image in mind, they've rather thoroughly expunged the roster. If not for the contract, I think Kyler would already be gone.

For him to be on the roster next year, he not only needs to play, but needs to light it up.

The only reason this season has been fun to watch as supposed to the Kyler led teams is because of Dobbs and Conner.

Conner went down, the whole thing fell apart after that.

I think the coaching staff has done a good job of wringing out every last drop of talent available to them, however it's just not enough at this point. The talent bucket just isn't full enough to send out a team that will be able to compete from week to week for an entire 60 minutes.

Any holes in the bucket (injuries) just causes the bucket to empty sooner. The positive is they have given us a team that is entertaining to watch and gives us some modicum of hope each week. Thus far there have been no 35-7 or 43-10 or 70-20 beatings. They are a trapeze act walking a tiny tight rope and most times they will fall off before they reach the other side.

Our offensive roster ain't bad... folks freaked but all of our talent didn't walk away with Hopkins. We need an OG, another RB, and a true #1 WR and our offense is set.
Defense...even there... one quality starter at each level would make a world of difference.
I think the trick is going to be keeping the current players as their roles diminish... guys like to play. But having some success increases the ego and feeling of entitlement...dropping from 60% of snaps to 5% is gonna hurt some feelings.
But we need this quality of players to stick around because they are great for giving guys a breather.
