3 positions to watch for 1st round of 2025 NFL draft for Arizona Cardinals

Notable quote taken from article which begs the question, leap year or incremental gains? Soon we will know.

With the 16th pick in the draft, if the Cardinals want a player to be able to make a significant impact as a rookie in 2025, there are really only three positions they can go.

  1. Offensive line
  2. Wide receiver
  3. Inside linebacker
The mere idea that a pass rushing OLB cannot make a huge impact as a rookie is a fallacy.
We still do not have a premier #1 pass rusher. Getting one will make Sweat and Browning both look better.

Every argument for Walker I can answer with "but Jihaad Campbell does it better".

He's a better inside backer and I like him when they used him off the edge. If you want that positional flex guy I'd rather take Jihaad.
Does his injury history scare you off?

To be honest at face value drafting another inside linebacker (especially one who just underwent surgery) is not appetizing to me - call it cardinals PTSD.

Yeah, I'm not particularly interested in drafting a 1st round linebacker, either Campbell or Walker.
