Got my tix for the season opener on the tenth, going to stay Saturday night somewhere, anyone got any suggestions for a nice, close hotel...

Last time I was in that area I stayed at a Best Western that honestly was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, inside the United States...

Close is better...

It really comes down to how much you want to spend.

well I don't get to go to many games each year so the amount is not real relevant... Not $1,000 bucks a night but almost anything goes... I just don't want to have to drive from L.A., all the way into Phoenix and then back towards L.A. to see the game... I would prefer somewhere west of the stadium...

Goodyear, Litchfield Park, somewhere in that area... I used the net to get that hotel last year in Goodyear and it was rated well but was a absolute pit...

I can't really recommend a motel in that area. Let's face it Best Westerns, etc, located next to the freeway are a crap shoot.
I have always had good luck with Hampton Inns.
If you want to travel into PHX a little bit, fifteen twenty minutes from the stadium. I recommend The Pointe Hiltons, either Pointe Squaw Peak or Pointe Tapatio Cliffs.
Not real cheap but at one time they were among "The" resorts in PHX.

Try the Wigwam Resort west of the stadium.

$100 to $200 bucks a night. Happening Bars within walking ditance from hotel, and fifteen/twent minutes from the stadium is okay.

Thoughts?

I would recommend a place (anyone, please help me with the name) on the south east corner of the 101 and Bell. It is within a couple nice places to drink and many nice places to eat. Sorry I can't help with the name, but I don't pay attention to the name when I drive by.

Like others have said there are a lot of places to eat and drink and only 10 minutes max from the stadium via 1 freeway at loop 101 and Bell road.

There is a Holiday Inn Express that looks nice from the outside that I know of.

There is also a Ramada Inn and Spring Hill Suites run by Marriot.

I think the Spring hill Suites is probably your best bet, I have always had good luck with Marriot run places.

See what you think of this place... Wingate Inn and Suites in Goodyear... looks nice from the outside anyway and surrounded by a few restaurants, 10 minutes away from the stadium.
