The Giants had a bad defense last year? IIRC they were pretty stout. Basically 2/3 have been won by good defense. Even when the Colts won it, it was their defense stepping up, not Peyton. Maybe that will bode well for you as your defense has stepped it up at the right time. I do not think for a second your offense will shred ours though....you will make some plays, but no way you dominate it.

It wasn't bad but it was worse than the Pats D statistically. Our D is better than its ranking, not as good as yours for sure, but I would say it is borderline top 10 when it plays well as it has this playoffs except for one quarter against the Eagles.

Your D is solid and your right , so is ours. This game is not about our offense against your defense. Other factors will determine the outcome mtl.


While your D is overall solid, there were some hikups along the way. Your second half the schedule was favorable and you conquered SD,Cinn,Dal,Cle w/o too much resistance. But Indy put 24 on you at Heinz and Tenn. racked up 31 while their leading rusher a rookie only garnered 70 yds.I'm pretty sure that Edge is gonna get that this game.

Ben played his worst game of the year vs Indy and threw 3 picks.....2 of which gave Peyton and Indy a short field in which to work.

Tennessee on the other hand did very well but Chris Johnson is just stupid fast.........but a big chunk of his rushing yardage came on one 4th down run on a pitchout. Other than that we held them way below their avg in rushing. Tennesse only put up 24 offensive points. Their D took an INT back for a score very late in the game to seal it.

This defense is now rested and healthy (with 3 weeks off in the past 6) and W Parker is as healthy as he's ever been all season........and hes rested (playing only 12-13 games including the playoffs thus far).

So yeah we've had a couple bad outputs, but this week i expect this defense to be back to its hard-hitting, fast-paced, intimidating swagger that its known for. Im sure theyre ready to hit something........its been too long (layoff)

I think Willie Parker is the key on Sunday for us. Everybody wants to focus a lot on Ben and his last trip to the big game vs Seachickens and how he struggled. But i think Willie can have a monster game.........even moreso now that Tomlin put the Oline on blast yesterday in front of the media--(motivational ploy surely). And that can only help Ben with play action.

If we run the ball, control some clock, and get points when we hit the red zone, we'll be very very difficult to beat. I expect an enormous output from the Steelers Offense this Sunday. Gonna surprise a lot of people.

I'd have to agree because you will win most football games if you do that but almost no team has been able to do that to the Cards this season. Teams that have beaten the Cards have done so with big plays on special teams and through the air.

I refer to our D as a break but don't bend outfit. We'll stuff the opponents offense over and over and then give up a 62 yard TD pass or a 23 yard completion on 3rd and 21. On the other hand the D gets really tough in the redzone where the deep pass possibility goes away.

Your offense stuggles to score I would say we are a little hotter

The offense struggled against the Ravens in the AFC game, but that was the Ravens, their not exactly known to be easy to score on being the #2 defense. They didn't have much trouble putting up 35 on the Chargers, or 33 on the Pats. And while they may be one of the laughing stocks of the NFL, the Bengals actually do have a decent defense (just a horrid offense to go with it) and the Steelers offense had no trouble putting up 38 and then 27 against them.

I know they don't have the numbers for the regular season on offense like the Cards do, but they score when they need to on a regular basis.

What do you mean, by teams havent been able to do that ? You surrender over 110 yds on the ground and were the 5th worst defense in points surrendered .........only Detroit, KC, STL and Denver are worse. Teams have demonstrated they can run on you. If we have to throw to score, then we'll take those shots. SD is about on par with Arizona as far as run defense goes and we did have a great deal of success against them (Parker had over 260 rushin between both contests vs SD), so while i can respect your run defense, i think we'll have some success in the rushing game vs Cards. We WANT to run........and believe me, if we can get 4-6yrds a pop, we'll take it and force you to adjust to stop it.

You really don't know much about Arizona do you? Only 3 backs went over 100 yards against the Cards this season. Dwilliams, Westbrook and Peterson. 600 of the season total rushing yards they allowed came in 3 games the Cards played as pre season games, Eagles on Thanksgiving and Minnesota and NE.

They had 13 games where their opponents had less than 110 yards rushing including the last 4 in a row under 100. Two of the 6 teams that did go over 100 couldn't get there again in the rematch.

Our weakness is in the secondary not run defense.
