Steelers pass on Shedeur Sanders in third round -- his future is unknown

The tumble of former Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders was supposed to end in the third round with the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, no one bothered to tell the Steelers this, as they instead opted for former Iowa running back Kaleb Johnson to replace Najee Harris.

At this point, all bets are off for Sanders as well as Alabama's Jalen Milroe. We assumed both guys would come off the board on Friday but after the New Orleans Saints opted for Louisville's Tyler Shough it was pretty much the Steelers or bust for the both of them.

Pittsburgh is staying patient and not rushing into anything at the quarterback position. This might mean the Steelers already know Aaron Rodgers is coming and there's no need for a quarterback in the draft at all. Or it might mean Pittsburgh is going to just roll the dice and see who is left when they go on the clock in the fourth round on Saturday.
